More than just flowers...🌹

Abbeyfield Loughborough were thrilled to receive a generous donation of these beautiful roses this week! The residents wasted no time getting involved.

They enjoyed a wonderful session of flower arranging, filling the home with beautiful colours and scents. Some residents also chose to give a rose to a loved one, spreading a little extra joy and affection. What a thoughtful gift!

Bridging the Gap: Music and Community in Farnham 🎶

We're pleased to share the launch of a new six-week intergenerational project bringing together residents at Abbeyfield Wey Valley Society 's Hatch Mill Care Home and students (ages 8-14) from Ridgeway School in Farnham.

Led by Intergenerational Music Making (IMM), this initiative is using music and creativity to build connections, help reduce loneliness, and support the well-being of all participants.

The first workshop, held in September, saw children and residents spending the morning singing songs, sharing stories, and getting acquainted.

Tammie Baker, Manager at Hatch Mill, said: "We focus on making this a home full of chances to learn, socialize, and have fun. Our partnership with IMM creates some truly special interactions between the generations and it is a joy for all of us to see the connections created through partnering IMM"

With limited opportunities for older and younger people in the UK to regularly connect, projects like this are vital for creating spaces where people of all ages feel valued and a sense of belonging. We look forward to seeing the project continue.

What a lovely Macmillan Coffee Morning at Abbeyfield Maidenhead 💚☕

They had a wonderful time welcoming residents, their families, staff, and some friends from Nicholas House who joined them. A huge thank you to everyone who came along, donated, and supported this fantastic cause.

At Abbeyfield Wessex Society's Abbeyfield House, Romsey, residents have been keeping busy as the autumn chill sets in 💛

With the sunshine still peeking through, they made the most of getting outdoors for some fun and games, before heading inside to warm up with a cuppa, cake, and a spot of creativity.

Residents had a wonderful time making beautiful peacock art together – a perfect way to brighten the season!
