Meet the Research Team!

Were you aware that the Rame Group Practice runs clinical trials?This gives local people the opportunity to be involved in a wide range of research topics.

Our team of dedicated staff include Dr Barnes, Dr Keast, Nicola Donlin (Lead Research Nurse), Marie Goodwin (Research Nurse), Rachel Thurlow (Research Nurse) Helen Waterfield (HCA), and Hannah Kinsman (Research Co-ordinator).

Over the coming weeks we will be posting more information about what is involved in clinical research and how you can get involved.

Rame Group Practice would like to invite you and your baby to take part in a study of a new vaccine which protects against four types of meningitis.

All babies normally receive a vaccine against meningitis type B (MenB) as part of the UK vaccination schedule. The new vaccine (MenACYW) aims to protect against meningitis types A, C, Y and W.
This study looks at the children’s immune responses to the new MenACYW vaccine when this is given either at the same time or separately from the MenB vaccine. Babies will receive all vaccines that are given in the normal immunisation schedule as part of the study.

If your child is less than 2 months old, healthy and has not yet received any of their routine vaccines he/she may be eligible to take part.

PROVENT STUDY REOPEN TO UNDER 60's

Are you currently still working through the lockdown in an environment in close proximity to others?
We are currently recruiting under 60s (who do not expect to be given the COVID vaccine in the next 2-3 months) who are: overweight; immunosuppressed; working in an industry in close proximity to others.
We have slots Mon-Fri throughout February.

You may be eligible if you are over 60 or fit one of the following criteria:
-BMI of more than 30
-taking immunosuppressants/immunocompromised
-Healthcare worker OR Teacher
-Working in industrial setting
-Working on military barracks

Taking part in this study WILL NOT stop you having the COVID vaccine when it is offered to you.
