So… we finally got home at midnight last night 😴
We got half way through Germany and the van broke down in the middle of the night 🙈 we stopped for coffee at a service station with 5.5 hours drive remaining until we reached the ferry in Dunkirk…
We went into the shop.. coffee machine was out of order 😩 we got back into the van, the van wouldn’t start (panic sets in).

I phone my brother (2200 uk time) and he gives us some options to try (he’s a mechanic and it’s his van) but nothing works 😥 we think it’s a spark plug or something along those lines…
We then had to phone RAC recovery and speak to the European team, they sent out a recovery driver and got taken to the Mercedes Benz garage and slept in the van overnight, missed the ferry 😩.. they fixed it in the morning (luckily it was a simple fix). We got back on the road and had to repay and rebook the ferry in France. We got there with 7 minutes to spare before they closed check-in. After crossing we then made the long drive back to Devon (which felt like the longest part of the whole journey)

But… we are finally home.

🇺🇦💙 LONG POST WARNING💛🇬🇧

So after an extensive drive and a quick stop for cloth change and freshen up, we made it to the border of Ukraine and met with maks from etis_help last night.

Maks is our Ukrainian contact and now friend who has set up a sanctioned and genuine non profit charity within Ukraine getting aid to those who need it most in-country. He and his charity give 100% of donations back to the people, they also forwards on medical supplies to the civil and military hospitals all over Ukraine. Which is where all our medical equipment/supplies and donations was destined to be donated.

After meeting maks over coffee and soup, we relaxed for an hour or so speaking about how and who they are helping and how the importation to these areas (especially towards the besieged areas) are almost non-existent, we decided to hand over all our donations to etis_help as the polish side at medyka looked to be coping well.
As soon as the donations are distributed we are hoping to have further photos from within Ukraine and we will keep you updated.

We then turned around drove 3 hours back to krakow arriving at midnight before being able to hand over 50 Cat-tourniquets to a second contact at 10am this morning.

As for us we are now halfway through Germany on the return leg of our journey, it’s been a long drive but it will make a difference to the people and that’s all that matters

The last few evenings have been spent at home in my pyjamas, creating itemised customs listings for some of the donations we have received.

**PLEASE READ**

I’ve just had a phone all with a Ukrainian aid organiser and he has stated that at the moment ‘medical Tea’ (lemsip / Asda cold and flu drinks to me and you) is desperately needed currently for the frontline inside Ukraine. People stood at posts for hours on end are becoming poorly because of the cold and hot medicated tea is dual purpose for them at the moment for heat and health… so if anyone would like to donate please please let these be near the top of your priority list ✌🏽 thank you x
