We often get asked about our book of remembrance.
Your entry can be placed in any date of your choosing.
The books are on display for each day of the year.
You can apply to have an entry in the book by simply filling out a form and paying the relevant fees, the fee will depend on how many lines you have and any emblems you would like to include.

Good morning all.
This a quick post to let everyone know that we currently don’t have any water at the crematorium.
So no toilets are available, and there is no water in the cemetery. South west water are investigating into it.

Today’s memorial product that we’d like to share, is the new range of bronze plaques now available.

For anyone who would prefer something a little bit different from the traditional heart or rectangular plaques, or perhaps in memory of a nature lover, these plaques are perfect.

Both are available in natural bronze, black and brown. The leaves can also be made in green, and the butterflies in purple.

Today’s memorial post is all about the music! Ashes into vinyl. What a fantastic idea! Have your loved one’s ashes pressed into a vinyl record and have your favourite artist playing.

Over the next few days we will be showcasing the different ways you can honour your loved one.
One memorial that we have on site is the Mulberry tree.

💙Giving back to our local community 💙

In 2025 we were proud to support the community that supports us. During the year we’ve made charitable donations to some amazing local organizations that are doing meaningful work right here at home. Using our metal recycling fund we were able to help five local charities.

✨ We’re honored to support:
👉 Rowcroft hospice - A vital support for people and their families needing help, support and comfort during end of life care and illness throughout south devon, either on site at Rowcroft in Torquay or out in the community. They provide specialist care to thousands of patients every year.
👉 St Mags living room - Run from St Mags church in Torquay they provide a safe friendly environment where people can feel accepted, valued and respected regardless of their beliefs, background or status.
👉 Tissues and Issues - Provides a much needed support base for families in the local community helping with so many different issues from mental health, disability help, running events even providing transport for hospital appointments they also have a HQ where they run various groups from.
👉Devon Eqine Crisis support - Provides a safe haven for neglected or unwanted ponies and horse, also provides therapy for mental health using these special ponies & horses.
👉Supported a local celebrant in providing a children & adults leaflet helping people to understand what happens at a cremation service. These are free and on site if anyone would like some.

These organizations make a real difference, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to give back and help strengthen our local community.

🌟Last meet the team🌟
Wow, what a night of wind that was last night!! I hope everyone's safe and sound, and that there's not too much damage around.... The roads were strewn with bits of everything on the way in this morning, and the cemetery is the same....
Another force that will hit the cemetery this morning with as much intensity is our very own Alex Lamb and the rest of the grounds team. Joining us here 3 years ago, he takes a great pride in being part of the team that keeps the ground looking so beautiful around here, and they won't let any debris lie around for long after last night.
A ex healthcare worker, Alex fancied a real change along with a new challenge, and with a massive passion for being outdoors, he started here and has found a real love for gardening.
Out of work, Alex loves nothing more than spending time at home or out and about having new adventures with his wife Mandy, and 2 year old daughter Everlyn. Over the years, and before the little one came along, Alex quite often donned his running shoes and ran marathons for charity.
Thankyou for the work you do around here Alex, it's hugely appreciated. We all take a pride in the work you and the team do in keeping the place looking lovely.

🎊Happy new year everyone!! 🎉
We hope everyone had a fantastic festive season, and there weren't to many sore heads on the 1st!! We all watched as Australia were first to say a big G'day to 2026, and we all watched in amazement at their display.... Our Alana though, instead of being amazed, she watched it and wished she was still out there, having only just returned from Oz on her travels!!
Hugely keen traveller Alana, is the crematorium and cemetery administrator here at Westerleigh Torbay. Having just returned from beach hopping in Australia, she often ponders past holidays like surfing in Portugal or her time in Vietnam, and wonders where on earth she'll end up next.
Working with us here for 3 and a half years and counting, she made the move after 8 years with the NHS. Being a local girl, born and bred, she loved the thought of working in the cemetery her grandfather is buried in, and she also has some amazing memories of grave hunting (she's a very keen historian) around here with her dad.

Out of work, when she finds spare time and is not engrossed in holiday/travel books and websites planning her next trip, Alana loves to get up early and go for walks at sunrise. Music is also a huge passion of hers, and loves nothing more than discovering new artists. Her current favourite type of music is country, so our bets are on Texas, Memphis etc being the next holiday.... Until then though, she's hoping for tickets to her favourite festival!! Alana is a sucker for a Glastonbury festival when she can get tickets.
It's great working with you in the office here Alana, and we really appreciate all you do.
