QUESTION?
FOR EVERYBODY WORLDWIDE

When you take someone with dementia to hospital, say A and E , or Emergency dept and need support for the person with dementia , who do you ask?. HAS YOUR HOSPITAL GOT A DEDICATED DEMENTIA TEAM a staff member at the hospital can ring within the hospital to come and help??

Feedback from the MP3 players we received this month

This lady had a career in dancing and performing arts so music has been a big part of her whole life. When coming to live with us we did not want that to change, having a personalised MP3 player is one of the many ways we keep music alive for her. Every part of the process she has been a part of, from sitting with her children to pick her most favourite songs and telling stories about what memories they evoke to quietly humming along to songs from the past on her new MP3 player.

This lady absolutely adores music she is the first person on the dance floor when we have live entertainment and the first person to grab the microphone at karaoke so having an MP3 player has increased the frequency of these activities for her. She now uses the MP3 player daily and enjoys her favourite songs at her leisure.

B.A
This gentlemen is extremely knowledgeable about all things musical, not only can he identify most songs he can tell you who sang it and from what year. He now asks for his “little music box” and loves sitting listening to his MP3 player, he also plays it for staff and quizzes them on facts about the singer/song.

E.F
This lady no longer joins in with many activities anymore and it can be difficult to get her to engage in anything, but with the MP3 player she seems to enjoy listening to the songs picked with the help of her son. The music seems to relax her and as she uses the supplied headphones it does not interfere with anyone else in the communal areas.

I have created this page because i dont want to miss anybody who needs to know either? “how they work” (see top of page first entry) or how to get hold of one. I will also publish the evidence of how well they are working for those with dementia in due course along with videos and our hope is others will do the same This was something that was born years ago and we have been working on these such a long time, simply just 15 of the People Living With Dementia all time favorite tracks/ songs tunes to be played to them at certain times of the day to help their well being and also we have found increase their liquid and food intake, the POWER of Music is Incredible as we will show. The most amazing thing is this way of helping people is also NON INVASIVE and NON MEDICAL .
