TOMMYS WORLD walk of the BAY

Mount Stuart Hospital is proud to support this amazing cause.

As many of you know, our amazing Receptionist, Toni, heartbreakingly lost her brother, Tommy, to su***de in 2020. Since then Toni and her family have been committed to raising awareness regarding su***de, su***de prevention and supporting families surviving after losing a loved one.

Toni has been selected to be a Baton Bearer for the Baton of Hope UK Tour 25' which is the biggest su***de prevention initiative that the UK has ever seen.

Toni has organised a 'Tommy's World Walk if the Bay' on Saturday 9th August, walking from Brixham to Torquay. All proceeds will be going to the Baton of Hope UK charity.

The Baton of Hope UK are part of a growing movement aspiring to a zero-su***de society, and will simply not tolerate more than 6,000 su***de deaths per year in the UK (as currently) when most su***des are preventable.

Toni is still looking for a few more volunteers along the route where they will have pop-up water stations - looking for smiley faces with lots of encouragement when passing through. So please if you want to be part of the day drop a message or comment below.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Admin and Bookings Clerk to join our friendly and supportive team at the Mount Stuart Hospital, base in Torquay. As a Admin and Bookings Clerk you will work as part of the Bookings Team, to support with bookings and enquiries.

This is a busy role liaising with patients, consultants and all hospital departments. We need an individual with a professional approach, excellent verbal communication skills, initiative and the ability to work within a team. You must be computer literate – experience with Word and Outlook being essential. Previous use of an Electronic Patient Record system would be an advantage.

We are looking for a dynamic and motivated individual to join our specialised nurses, to provide focused outpatient care to our patients, whilst ensuring that they are suitable for surgery by liaising with surgeons, anaesthetists, and other healthcare providers to ensure a smooth and safe patient journey.

The successful individual will have excellent communication skills and be able to work within an extensive multi-disciplinary team. The willingness to take on additional roles and extended skills to enhance the provision of care is also required.
