I want to share with you one of my favourite weight loss tips.
And the great news... it's a really simple one to do.
Here it is:
Drink water!
Ok, you know this already, right!
But are you doing it?
If you're anything like me, I forget more often than I would like to admit.
But when I do drink the suggested amount (2 litres/day) I always see huge benefits.
So what are the benefits?
Well, losing weight is one.
Here's how it works.
Evidence shows that increasing water intake promotes weight loss by increasing your metabolism, which can increase the number of calories you burn on a daily basis, and that's without doing exercise.
A 2013 study involving 50 young women who wanted to lose weight demonstrated that drinking an additional small bottle of water (500 mL) 3 to 4 times per day before meals for 8 weeks led to significant reductions in body weight and body fat compared to them not doing so.
When's the best time to drink water?
Drinking water half an hour before meals is the most effective way to cut weight. It can make you feel more full prior to eating which results in eating less.
In one study, dieters who drank 500mL of water before meals lost 44% more weight over a period of 12 weeks than dieters who didn’t drink water before meals.
Finally, drinking 2 litres of water a day is essential for helping the body burn off fat from food and drink, knows as 'metabolising'.
It also helps burn off stored fat.
On top of that, drinking water makes you feel more energetic, is good for your skin, helps prevent headaches and keeps you feeling more mentally alert.
So, why not commit today to drinking 2 litres of water a day?
