Do you know what's really scary this spooky season? That we aren't being told the whole truth about alcohol!πŸ‘»πŸ€―

Did you know your liver is an organ with over 500 different functions? From processing digested food to combating infections and dealing with toxins like alcohol - it has a lot to do!

If the liver has to break down too much alcohol, its other functions are negatively affected.

Big alcohol companies glamourise alcohol and put it centre stage and deem it essential to how we socialise, wind down and cope. It's time for change and for alcohol to be removed from the spotlight. It's time we were told the truth about alcohol!

There were 5,565 deaths related to drug poisoning registered in England and Wales in 2024, according to latest ONS figures – up from 5,448

20/10/2025

Figures released today by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) reveal that 5,565 people died from causes related to drug poisoning in England and Wales in 2024. The number of deaths recorded is a 2.1% increase from 2023, twice as high as it was in 2012, and the highest since records began in 1993.

Every life lost to drugs or alcohol is a tragedy and with every loss there will be a family left behind desperately trying to come to terms with this.

Losing someone you love as a result of drug or alcohol use can be emotionally devastating, challenging and isolating. If you have lost someone in this way it is important to know that you are not alone. Visit our website where we list information and support that's available.

We are also reiterating our call to the government to do more to support families, through increased investment in support services and access to training on administering naloxone when a family member has overdosed.
