CLOSED….
Monday 30th May and Tuesday 31st May.
Due to some long awaited and essential repair work we need to close the practice on these two days.
We will be open again as usual on Wednesday 1st June.
We are sorry for the inconvenience of this. For any eye related emergencies please call 111 for advice. We will be unable to answer the practice phone or reply to any social media messages or emails as our staff are unable to be on the premises whilst the work is being carried out.

In response to the Met Office’s severe weather warning for Friday 18th February we have made the decision to close the practice to reduce the risk to patients and staff.

COVID POLICY UPDATE…

Protecting our patients and staff is our first priority and we would like to continue creating a safe environment so everybody feels comfortable in the practice.

As per our optical governing bodies joint statement, the government have stated that health and care settings in England should continue to maintain appropriate infection prevention and control measures. Therefore we respectfully ask patients to continue sanitising hands on arrival and wearing face masks. Our staff will still be wearing the appropriate PPE for their role. We will keep in place our appointment only system which allows social distancing to continue for patients and staff.

ＭＡＲＣＨ ＵＰＤＡＴＥ

We would like to advise you that we are now welcoming patients into the practice for routine eye examinations again.

As you can appreciate we do have a huge backlog of reminder letters to post out but there is no need to wait to hear from us to make an appointment. If you are overdue or due an eye examination or contact lens aftercare we are actively encouraging patients to call us to arrange their appointments without the need to receive a letter from us first.
We are open Monday - Friday and alternate Saturdays 9am - 5pm.
Please call us on 01805 628271 to book an appointment or to check when you are due for your next eye examination if you are unsure.

Please do try and contact us during working hours of 9am - 5pm as this helps us deal with your enquiry more promptly. Telephone calls are preferable as social media messages and emails may not be read instantly.

We are still operating a locked door policy and an appointment only system for collections, repairs and dispenses so please call ahead to arrange a time. With this in mind we do please ask that you arrive as close to your appointment time as possible to avoid any waiting around. We also ask that you attend the appointment on your own (this does not include under 16’s) and if you have a group booking we cannot always safely accommodate you waiting for each other unfortunately, so please bear this in mind when booking. We are a small, but busy practice and we need to ensure that we comply with social distancing measures to keep both our staff and patients safe.

Lastly you may notice in our photos that we’ve made a few changes to the practice! 😊 Thank you for your support and we look forward to seeing you again.

If you are experiencing a sudden change in vision, sudden blurriness, a painful or sore eye, a problem with contact lenses, feel like your vision has changed, an ongoing ocular medical condition or broken or lost your glasses please call us on 01805 628271. We will determine whether we can help you remotely, or whether you need to come in for a face to face appointment.⠀

The safety and wellbeing of our staff and patients is our number one priority and we will be strictly following the guidelines on how to work safely in the practice. We ask that you please do not attempt to come into the practice without calling ahead or without an appointment.

For now no routine eye care will take place, but do not hesitate to get in touch with us if you have any concerns or queries. We will be in touch with patients who have appointments booked. It is always best to call us on 01805 628271 if you have an urgent query rather than email or message us on social media as we cannot always respond as promptly. Please note our opening times are Monday - Friday 8.30am - 5pm.

As we begin the second lockdown we would like to reassure you that we are staying open - this includes all routine appointments. All eye examinations booked over the next four weeks are going ahead. However, please advise us if your circumstances change and you need to rearrange your appointment.

We would like to take this opportunity to let you know that we are operating in a safe and clean environment. We have the relevant PPE required for staff and thorough cleaning regimes are in place between each patient. The door is locked and we still have an appointment only system in place so not to overcrowd the practice. With this in mind we do please ask that you arrive as close to your appointment time as possible to avoid any waiting around. We also ask that you attend the appointment on your own (this does not include under 16’s) and if you have a group booking we cannot always safely accommodate you waiting for each other unfortunately, so please bear this in mind when booking.
