Today marks the beginning of National Feet Week 👣
Often neglected, we are quite literally stuck when our feet become painful or don’t function. Some people are not that keen on feet, even their own!
Personally I find them all fascinating, every shape, size, callous and bunion.
You would be amazed what a reflexologist can notice about your feet.
Why not come and try a reflexology treatment and see what your feet have to say about you and your health. 😊

REFLEXOLOGY: an ABC . . .

U is for Understanding

When a client first comes for a treatment we complete a detailed consultation form covering all aspects of their health. This is important for me to understand what type of treatment will be most effective and also if there are any contraindications. I continue to record reactions during and after treatments to measure any changes. This is particularly helpful when you want to assess to what extent reflexology has helped a client.

I have been practicing for 10 years and during this time I have continued to expand my understanding and knowledge through regular CPD and research.

I seek to promote my clients’ understanding of their own health condition and can often provide additional self-help tips. I can also signpost clients to other local practitioners.

But most of all I hope to understand what is problematic for my clients by listening. Sometimes it can help a great deal simply to be heard and understood.

Celebrating Reflexologists who work or volunteer in supportive cancer care ❤️

Today is world cancer day and I received this beautiful message from a reflexologist who trained in Reflexology Lymph Drainage (RLD) last year & recently submitted her case study 👣

“I wanted you to know that I found your course just brilliant and inspirational. I’m a volunteer at a cancer charity and last week I completed RLD on a client with lymphoedema. Her reaction, once I had finished, has stayed with me all week. She said it was the first time in a while that she had felt truly relaxed and that she had not had an experience like it.

So thank you, your work is making a big difference to people.”

It’s a privilege to provide care to those affected by cancer, holding space for moments of deep relaxation, connection, and comfort when it’s most needed ❤️

❤️ love what you do ❤️

REFLEXOLOGY: an ABC . . .

T is for Tension

Stress creates a feeling of emotional or physical tension, often both. It is difficult to avoid stress in everyday life but so important to have the tools to deal with it. If you’re not managing your stress there are a few warning signs to look out for; a change in eating habits (eating more or less) sleep problems, isolating yourself, staying at home or staying at work, increased use of alcohol, coffee, drugs.

Many of my clients enjoy regular monthly treatments simply to manage stress and tension. Reflexology is a wonderful way to destress, release tension, unblock emotions and energy. It’s like pressing a reset button so you leave the treatment room feeling lighter, calmer and more buoyant. 🤩

Wishing all my wonderful clients a peaceful Christmas and a happy and healthy New Year. I am so grateful to every client who walks through my door. Thank you ❤️

2024 has been a good year for South Devon Reflexology. As I am no longer teaching I have been able to devote more time and energy into growing my business and now run 3 clinics each week alongside home visits. Next year will mark 10 years as a reflexologist for me so watch this space for some special offers 🤩

REFLEXOLOGY: an ABC . . .

S is for Sinuses

This was a difficult choice as there are many common health conditions beginning with ‘s’ such as sciatica, skin conditions, stroke and SAD.
The sinuses respond really well to reflexology. The reflex points for these air-filled spaces in the skull are located in the small toes. If a client is suffering from sinus congestion, often the sinuses can clear during the hour of treatment. Staying hydrated and avoiding possible allergens can also help to alleviate symptoms.
