A satisfying win to get some extra veggie fibre goodness in to the kids..

It couldn’t be simpler to make this veggie pack tomato sauce:
Basically chop any veg you have in the fridge,
I used onion, garlic and celery, fried gently in olive oil.
Then I added carrots, peppers, courgette, fresh tomatoes, dried Italian herbs and some chicken stock.
Cook down until soft
Add a few tins of good quality tinned tomatoes and blend until smooth
This will freeze perfectly, I usually freeze half and then have a jar in the fridge to add to meals that need a bit of extra fibre

‘Practice what you preach’.. sometimes this sentiment leaves me feeling a bit like a fraud! I sometimes look at my clients and realise they’ve eaten much better than me today.. often my healthy morning routine is forgotten for whatever’s quick and easy before the school run. Does this mean I can do my job properly? Or does this mean I can actually understand on a deeper level.. I’ve struggled with food all my life, been up to a size 16/18 and yoyo dieted myself down to an 8/10..
but this doesn’t mean I can’t support my clients with their needs. Maybe this means I can actually do it better because I understand the struggle.. I only discovered Carl Yung recently and a lot goes over my head, but this idea of the wounded healer really hit home. Take a listen.. at This Yungian Life.. The Wounded Healer. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=X95uBVQhT-s

Some days the only thing to do is start a huge batch of spicy, delicious kimchi.. even though this looks like loads, I have to keep a tight watch on it as it doesn’t last long! #

I've handed the reins over to Hannah for this week's Wellbeing snack. She writes:

Who knew the humble pomegranate was so good for us!

Why it’s special:

It’s bursting with polyphenol antioxidants, which are some of the most powerful compounds found in nature.

These antioxidants break down in your gut into smaller compounds called urolithins, which travel through your body to:

• reduce inflammation
• slow age-related decline
• support heart health

Gut & immunity boost:

Pomegranates help feed your good gut bacteria and protect against the bad ones.

This can lower the risk of digestive issues like bloating, cramping, and inflammation.

Their natural defence compounds (developed to help the plant survive tough conditions!) also support our immune system.

In short: Adding pomegranate to your diet is a simple way to nourish your gut, protect your heart, and strengthen your defences.♥️

Summer holiday survival.. breakfast can sometimes be the key to a bit more energy pre-tea time!

I definitely notice the days when I don’t have a filling breakfast, it feels easy at the time to have some toast, or a bit of cereal.. but come 4pm, the effects of your blood sugar rising and falling may take its toll!
Sorry to be another nutritionist banging on about protein.. but a breakfast with a good dose from eggs or fish.. nuts, avocados or plain yogurt.

It might not be your thing to have your dinner for breakfast but just try to add in some protein and fibre (nuts, seeds.. fruit) and this will help avoid kicking off the blood sugar rollercoaster first thing.

This involves a bit of time spent thinking about YOU in the morning.. it may feel a bit odd!! But I promise, you won’t regret it.

What a great offer.. check this out if you’re looking for something incredible and transformational

💧 WATER – Let It Flow (Even the Tears)
There are days when tears fall into your toddler’s half-eaten fish fingers, or the school drop off seems like the world is ending and you both walk away in tears! And that’s okay. Emotions need movement, just like water. Bottling it up? You’ll explode somewhere between Aldi and soft play. Cry, dance, rant to a voice note or call a friend.. I bet they will know exactly how you feel.. Most importantly, try not to keep it inside.. Just like the river, let it flow and move through you.

What’s your go-to release when you’re about to burst?
