The Hearth Retreat Rekindling Connection with Nature:
Soulful stays & retreats in a secluded South Devon valley

The Hearth is a peaceful natural sanctuary where you can rest, rejuvenate, and reconnect. We aim to offer gentle but potently restorative stays to all who come to visit through nature immersion, soulful accommodation and, when desired, skilled facilitation. We have a particular passion to support people to embrace their feelings and empower their responses to the ecological crisis. We are managing the land with guidance from Devon Wildlife Trust, promoting biodiversity, species-rich grassland, and waterways, and have planted a swathe of native broadleaf trees. We're resurrecting the old hazel coppice in the woods and have begun growing our own vegetables. We feel incredibly blessed to have landed in this corner of Devon and wish to share its bounty with others who feel drawn to come.

The astonishing sound meditation of Jon Hopkins Tayos Caves project, Professor Thomas Crowther’s compelling revised research into tree plantings capacity to restore bioplanetary health, Sam Lee’s erudite history of the Nightingale within multi-ethnic folk traditions, Merlin Sheldrake’s mellifluous incantation on the evolutionary example of fungi, and the wonderful Dr Lyla June Johnston (beloved Pat Macabe’s daughter) reframing humanity’s place on the planet through exemplifying indigenous interrelationship with landscape as the ultimate co-creative gardening project, to name but a few.

Tomorrow evening we hold our penultimate breathwork journey from the Wild Fire series in the yurt at the Hearth.
It’s been incredibly supportive to track the seasonal shift from midwinter to the nearing equinox and meet it in body, mind and spirit via the breath.
