You lie with your back and legs resting on warm water filled cushions, which have been placed on top of a traditional massage table. The massage therapist slides their hands and arms between you and the cushions to treat the back of your body - allowing for the unique 3-dimensional and flowing feeling of the massage. The warmth of the cushions deepens the relaxation and prepares the muscles, making the body more receptive and the treatment more effective without the need for excessive pressure. A Hydrotherm treatment always also includes some passive stretching and/or movement. Hydrotherm massage particularly encourages opening, lengthening and fluidity of movement. Anybody can benefit from Hydrotherm massage. It is also particularly suitable during all stages of pregnancy - the cushions are kept at a slightly lower temperature and the back of the couch is raised to an appropriate angle for the stage of pregnancy, to ensure the treatment is comfortable and safe for both the mother and her growing baby.
