Most of us never learn how to breathe well - yet breathing patterns influence posture, pain, sleep, nervous system regulation and recovery far more than we’re taught.

Laura van Tatenhove’s Better Breathing for Better Health workshop is designed for practitioners who want practical, evidence-informed tools they can use immediately - both in clinic and between sessions.

In just over two hours, Laura explores how functional breathing can:
⦁ support respiratory and cardiovascular health
⦁ reduce unnecessary muscular tension
⦁ regulate the nervous system
⦁ improve sleep, focus and resilience
⦁ complement hands-on work such as Bowen

This isn’t about forcing techniques or chasing performance. It’s about understanding how breathing works, why it goes wrong so easily, and how small, informed changes can make a meaningful difference.

📅 Next date: 14 March - online. The February workshop is already full, so if March is calling, it’s worth booking sooner rather than later.
🎓 Suitable for: Bowen therapists, bodyworkers, movement teachers and anyone looking to improve their breathing for better health
💻 Format: live online workshop
💷 Cost: £85

A valuable addition to your practice - and to your own health.

What if improvement doesn’t always come from doing more, but from doing less, more precisely?

This UK study often sparks discussion, not because it promises outcomes, but because it invites better questions.

In Bowen Therapy, results like this aren’t about force or repetition. They point us toward:
⦁ how the nervous system responds to timing and safety
⦁ how fascia communicates change beyond the site of pain
⦁ how pauses allow the body to reorganise, rather than be corrected

For practitioners, this kind of data encourages curiosity about mechanism, not just technique.

For those exploring Bowen, it offers insight into why a minimal approach can still be clinically meaningful.

We’re sharing this to open conversation - not conclusions.

What do you feel makes the biggest difference in outcomes:
the technique, the timing, or the body’s readiness to respond?

If you already work with the body and you’re sensing that something more refined is possible in your touch, ESB 1 is designed for exactly that moment.

Energetic Structural Balance (ESB®) offers a clear, practical framework for working with structure, fascia, and the nervous system without force - bridging biomechanical understanding with energetic and somatic intelligence.

For Bowen therapists and other hands-on practitioners, ESB 1 often lands as a missing piece:
– more clarity around structural organisation
– deeper sensitivity without working harder
– tools that integrate seamlessly into existing practice

Many practitioners who completed ESB 1 last year have already committed to Levels 2–4 this year - not because they were pushed, but because what they learned in ESB 1 immediately changed how they listen, assess, and respond in clinic.

ESB 1 — Foundations of Energetic Structural Balance
📍 Dartington Hall, Devon
📅 27–29 June 2026

You’ll explore:
– spinal rebalancing and whole-body organisation
– how minimal input can invite profound structural change
– safe, effective adjustments informed by biotensegrity and fascia
– a way of working that supports both somatic and emotional integration

This is advanced training for practitioners already working with the body - including Bowen therapists, manual therapists, osteopaths, physiotherapists, and trauma-informed practitioners.

Early bird places are limited and already filling.
£50 saving available until 24 March 2026.

If you’re curious about where your work could deepen next, ESB 1 is a strong place to begin.

Some therapies ask the body to change.
Bowen asks it to respond.

Learning Bowen Therapy is often less about acquiring a new technique and more about changing how you listen to the body, to timing, to subtle shifts that create meaningful change.

People are drawn to Bowen for many reasons.
⦁ Some want to support family and friends.
⦁ Some are already working with the body and want a modality that integrates gently and intelligently.
⦁ Others are exploring a new professional path that feels sustainable, respectful, and deeply human.

Our two-day Introduction to Bowen Therapy is the first step.

No prior experience needed.

Practical, hands-on, and designed to help you understand why Bowen works - not just how to do it.

If you choose to continue into professional training, the course fee is fully deductible from the CBHT qualification.

Upcoming Introduction to Bowen dates:

📍 Durham — 7–8 February
📍 Highlands — 21–22 February
📍 Devon — 21–22 February
📍 Brighton — 21–22 March
📍 London — 21–22 March

Sometimes the next step isn’t about doing more - it’s about learning a different way of doing.

Low back pain is one of the most common reasons people seek hands-on therapy - and one of the most complex to work with long term.

Research like this raises an interesting question for practitioners and students alike: what happens when change comes from precision and timing, rather than pressure?

Bowen Therapy works with the nervous system and fascia in a way that often surprises people - not because it’s forceful, but because it’s specific.

For those already working with bodies, or those considering learning Bowen, this invites a wider conversation about how we understand pain, movement, and regulation.

💬 What have you noticed in your own practice (or experience) when less input leads to more change?

Many Bowen practitioners reach a point where the question is no longer what move to do - but how the body is organising beneath their hands.

Energetic Structural Balance (ESB®) is an advanced, practitioner-level training for those already working with touch, fascia, and whole-body integration.

Developed by André Dückers and taught in the UK with Jihan Adem, ESB brings together biomechanics, fascial continuity, nervous system awareness, and energetic organisation - not as separate ideas, but as one integrated clinical language.

Rather than imposing correction, ESB works with the body’s own intelligence, using precise contact, co-regulated movement, and structural listening to support change at depth.

For Bowen therapists, ESB integrates naturally with what you already know -expanding diagnostic clarity, refining sensitivity, and offering practical tools that translate directly into clinic.

In 2026, we’re hosting the full four-level ESB® training series in the UK, held at Dartington Hall, Devon.

Early bird places are now available for practitioners who feel ready to go further - not by adding more force, but by understanding structure, organisation, and response more clearly.

📍 Dartington Hall, Devon
📆 June, July & October 2026
🎟 Early bird pricing available until 24 March 2026

Bowen Therapy is being celebrated on a truly international stage in 2026 — and conversations about fascia, anatomy, and touch are right at the heart of it.

We’re delighted to share that Jihan Adem has been invited to speak at Celebrating Bowen Therapy, an international conference bringing practitioners together in Zagreb this May.

This is a gathering for therapists who care deeply about the evolution of Bowen — its roots, its integrity, and how our understanding continues to deepen through anatomy, practice, and shared experience.

Jihan’s contribution explores how cross-sectional anatomy and human dissection deepen our understanding of how precise, minimal touch engages the body’s core as a continuous fascial system and why timing, pauses, and depth are central to effective Bowen work.

We’re sincerely thankful to the conference organisers for creating a space that values curiosity, dialogue, and global connection within the Bowen community. It’s an honour to be part of a programme that reflects the breadth and depth of this work worldwide.
