Sabrina Hall 🌿Massage like you’ve never experienced before (šŸ“Totnes, UK)
šŸ‘©šŸ½ā€šŸŽ“Helping massage therapists get a thriving practice Massage isn’t just a massage to me.

It’s a transformative healing experience. A journey to reconnect with your body, your breath and yourself. Massage therapy feels like magic. It supports healing not only on a physical level, but also emotionally and mentally. I am trauma informed and qualified in Deep Tissue, Pregnancy and Post Natal Massage (trained with Suzanne Yates, a renowned bodyworker and birth educator). My signature offer is a beautiful blend of my philosophy, my experience since 2015, and a deep focus on the nervous system. Since 2023, I have also been a Neuro Linguistic Programming therapist. As a coach since 2019, I have helped clients overcome fears, shift limiting beliefs and create lasting change in their life and business. My field of expertise is supporting amazing massage therapists, bodyworkers and wellness practitioners, helping them build thriving practices that not only serve their clients beautifully, but support them too. I trained with Ali Campbell in NLP and with the Tony Robbins School for Coaching. Available online and in Totnes.

There are many ways to attract massage clients that have NOTHING to do with posting more on Instagram.

Here are 5 that therapists often overlook:

🌿 Your booking experience
If booking is confusing or slow, people often abandon it before confirming.

🌿 Your follow up
A thoughtful message after a treatment builds loyalty and often leads to referrals.

🌿 Your positioning
When people clearly understand WHO you help, they remember you and recommend you.

🌿 The treatment experience
The small details before, during and after the session often determine whether someone returns.

🌿 Your reputation
Word of mouth is still one of the strongest ways to grow a massage practice.

But here’s the interesting part.

Attracting clients is ONE thing.

Many massage therapists CAN do that.

The real struggle is CLIENT RETENTION.

Clients not coming back.
Clients not telling their friends.
Busy weeks followed by empty diaries again.

And most of the time it has nothing to do with technique.

I’ve put the 10 most common reasons clients don’t come back or tell ALL their friends about you into a simple Google Doc.

If you want it, comment GUIDE and I’ll send it to you šŸ’™šŸŒæ

Small things make a big difference on the table.

Sometimes it is not about learning more techniques.
It is about refining the details.

Here are 5 things I wish more therapists paid attention to!!

🌿 Removing the cover too quickly
When you pull the towel or sheet away fast, it creates a little draft. The client feels it immediately. It breaks the sense of warmth and safety. Move the cover gently, slowly, with care so the client barely notices the transition.

🌿 Using only one hand
Sometimes I genuinely wonder where the other hand went. Your second hand is powerful. Use it to hold, to stretch, to anchor another area of the body. Two handed contact feels more secure and more intentional.

🌿 Losing contact with the body
If you need to move around the table, keep one hand resting on the client. This prevents that little jump when your touch suddenly comes back. Continuous contact keeps the nervous system relaxed.

🌿 Breaking the flow
Transitions matter. Moving from one area to another should feel like one continuous story, not separate chapters. Avoid mechanical, robotic movements. Let your work flow so the client feels carried through the session.

🌿 Going fast and deep
Fast and deep often puts the nervous system on edge. Depth is not about force. Slow, intentional pressure allows the nervous system to regulate and trust so the tissue and the body can soften.

Massage is not just what you do. It is how it FEELS.

If you want my simple Google doc with the top reasons clients are not coming back or telling their friends about you, comment ā€œGUIDEā€.

Imagine hiking up to a lookout point…
and the second you reach the view
you turn around and walk away.

You wouldn’t.

You’d stand there.
You’d breathe it in.
You’d let it LAND.

Massage is the same.

Or think about a hug.
Not a quick 2 second polite hug.
A real one.

The kind where you stay.
Where you soften.
Where you FEEL it.

When you find a spot that needs attention
rhomboids
teres major
piriformis
levator scapula or whatever else area needs more care

STOP.

Stay.

10 seconds.
20 seconds.
Even longer sometimes!

Let your client savour the depth.
The sensation.
The relief.
Give them the time to ENJOY all the FEELS

Let their brain go
ā€œoh my god that feels sooooo good, don’t go, wait!!!ā€

It’s so frustrating when a therapist finally finds the spot…
and then moves on.

Stay stay stay.

This is what makes clients MELT.
This is what makes them come back.

Because pausing requires something from you.

It requires you to FEEL how your work feels.
To listen with your heart AND your hands.
To be patient.
To be slow.
To be fully connected to that one unique body in front of you.

That’s where the magic is.

I’ve created a super simple Google doc with 10 other reasons why your clients are not coming back.

If you want it, say ā€œguideā€ in the comments AND DM me ā€œguideā€ (yes both šŸ˜‰)

11/02/2026

You’ve had a long week.
Your shoulders are tight.
Your head feels full.
Your body is asking for a pause.

You think
ā€œI really need a massage.ā€

But you’ll book it next week.
When things calm down.
When you find the time.

And suddenly it’s been 3 months.
6 months.
And you still haven’t created time for YOU.

Have you noticed how EASY it is to create time for others? Or things that do not necessarily benefit YOU? I can certainly relate…

Then maybe a massage happens and…
Then you finally come in.
You lie down.
You exhale.

And you say
ā€œI should have done this sooner.ā€
ā€œI should do this more oftenā€
But then ā€œlifeā€ happens and you’re falling at the bottom of the list yet again.

I am talking to everyone here. Me, massage therapists, clients…

Pssst: Hence why I have a monthly massage membership - The Massage Club - if you’re in Devon or around, message me about this (members’ spots are limited)

Massage isn’t just about muscles.
It’s about your nervous system.
Your mind.
Your heart.
Your ability to switch off and just be.

Like a dentist appointment.
Like a doctor’s appointment.
You have to put it in the diary.
Then life works around it.

Otherwise the time never comes.

FREE CLASS

6 spaces left

I am hosting another free self-care class and I wanted to share why this one matters so much to me.

I lost my dad to su***de in 2002.
Mental health struggles are not always visible.
Many people carry so much quietly, often while appearing fine on the outside.

This class is not only about raising awareness around mental health.

It is about actually looking after it.

A gentle hour to pause.
To breathe.
To calm the nervous system.
To feel connected again.

The class is free to attend, with an optional donation to the Samaritans (my goal is to raise Ā£1000 and I’m already a quarter over🄳).

Donations are very welcome, yet there is absolutely no obligation.

You are welcome whether you contribute or not. Please come if you need the space.

Friday 23 January (next week)

7.30 pm to 8.30 pm

Totnes (Bowden House, The Angel Hall - Registration is necessary as spaces are limited)

There are only 6 spaces left.

If this speaks to you, you can book your place here šŸ‘‡šŸ½

Sundays have become one of my favourite moments of the week… the morning I send my Whispers newsletter.

Each letter is a little pause in time. A reflection. A story. A reminder to slow down, breathe, and notice the beauty in the everyday. ✨

This week, I wrote about the small things that make life feel alive...The apples scattered on the autumn ground, the pink skies at sunrise, connection, kindness, learning new things, and finding joy in the moments we often miss.

It brings me so much pleasure to write these letters and to know that they land quietly in your inboxes, ready to be read with a warm cup of tea.

If you’d like to receive my Whispers each Sunday, let me know below or send me a little message and I’ll share the latest one with you. You can unsubscribe anytime, of course.

With love,
Sabrina 🌿
