💬 What is 'Botox' & how does it work?
Botulinum toxin type A is a neuromodulator that when injected into a specific area/muscle stops the nerve signals needed for the muscle to contract. It is administered using a small fine needle, once injected it relaxes the muscles and decreases their movement. This reduces the appearance of lines or wrinkles in that area. It is commonly used to smooth out crows feet & frown lines
💬 How long will it take to work?
Whilst each patient is individual it usually takes 5-7 days to see the effects of anti wrinkle treatment. Optimum results take up to 2-3 weeks
💬 Is the procedure painful?
Anti wrinkle injections are not considered to be painful by most patients. The needle is very small and will feel like a pinprick
💬 How long does it last?
As with any treatment individual results will vary but it usually lasts 3-4 months
💬 Are there many side effects?
Side effects are minor, bruising, swelling and slight tenderness at injection site are the most common which will all resolve in a day or two
