You breathing slows and deepens. Most people arrive breathing shallow and fast with thoughts of their busy lives and to do lists. When you start to relax your mind starts to clear you feel safe and your parasympathetic nervous system activates.
Your tummy starts to rumble. Another sign your parasympathetic nervous system is activated and is entering the rest and digest state.
You stop talking. I love hearing about what you have been up to, your new job. and holidays but when the conversation stops I know your relaxing and your thoughts are slowing down.
Your feet start to twitch. This is most common during reflexology but when your feet start to make involuntary movements also known as hypnic jerks (or sleep starts), which are involuntary muscle contractions as the body relaxes
Emotions can arise from no where. some of us can live in a permanent state of fight or flight always on the go always feeling on edge. When we finally relax and feel safe our emotions have the opportunity to bubble up. My room is a safe space to feel those emotions if they arise.
