You breathing slows and deepens. Most people arrive breathing shallow and fast with thoughts of their busy lives and to do lists. When you start to relax your mind starts to clear you feel safe and your parasympathetic nervous system activates.

Your tummy starts to rumble. Another sign your parasympathetic nervous system is activated and is entering the rest and digest state.

You stop talking. I love hearing about what you have been up to, your new job. and holidays but when the conversation stops I know your relaxing and your thoughts are slowing down.

Your feet start to twitch. This is most common during reflexology but when your feet start to make involuntary movements also known as hypnic jerks (or sleep starts), which are involuntary muscle contractions as the body relaxes

Emotions can arise from no where. some of us can live in a permanent state of fight or flight always on the go always feeling on edge. When we finally relax and feel safe our emotions have the opportunity to bubble up. My room is a safe space to feel those emotions if they arise.

My rituals are designed for ultimate relaxation. They feature massage and reflexology to stimulate your parasympathetic nervous system helping you switch off from the daily noise of life. Through my experience in spas and treating burnt out women over the years I have curated a set of treatments that offer you space and time to relax.

Many treatments can feel rushed and you can feel like your just another customer on a. Conveyor belt but my treatments are bespoke using handcrafted aromatherapy blends and slow massage movements to calm the nervous system.

Reflexology was the first qualification I gained back in 2007 and it’s the treatment I see have the biggest impact.

Most clients I see have busy lives with a mind that just keeps running with all the things to do and worries. Reflexology is the switch that turns it off and offers deep relaxation. The biggest benefit is it lasts long after you have left the treatment room. Reflexology is great at managing stress levels it activates the vagus nerve improving stress responses, sleep and digestion.

Studies have also been done on the use of reflexology for depression and anxiety in menopause and has been proven to have a positive impact on levels of depression.

Reflexology is bespoke, treatments are tailored to you and your concerns.

I also have done further advanced training in Oncology reflexology and pregnancy reflexology so your feet are in safe hands.

A little bit about me

✨ 37, two daughters a husband and a dog.

✨ I love Tea (hate coffee), gardening and a good mooch round an antique or charity shop looking for treasures and my house is full of them.

✨ first qualified in reflexology in 2007 where my love of holistic therapies started

✨ since then I have done so many courses refining and expanding my knowledge.

✨ I have created my own dream space after working many years in the spa industry

✨ I have created a treatment space with spas in mind creating more than just a treatment room, creating an experience for all my lovely customers.

✨ I believe reflexology has the most positive impact on my clients out of all the treatments. It’s the most relaxing on the nervous system and clears your mind of the endless list of jobs.

✨ I will use essential oils for everything. Coughs, colds, burns, sleep , aches, pains you name it I’ll use and oil. But I’ll also use medicine when needed.

✨ I struggle to stay consistent with exercise, skincare, stress management and diet it’s something I hate to admit being in the industry I’m in. I’ll never judge you, none of us are perfect even if instagram leads you to believe otherwise.

5 reasons I think social media is ruining your skin.

1. Too many products. You do not need a 10 step skincare routine 1 cleanser is enough. A good cleansing balm can eliminate make up on the first cleanse and clean your skin on the second cleanse. It’s moisturising and hydrating. A brightening vitamin C serum to brighten and give a glow. Moisturiser to hydrate and feed your skin. This is a great start and it won’t break the bank.

2. Chopping and changing your skincare due to tends and fads. This can do more damage than good. This can lead to breakouts, dryness and reactions.

3. Wrong products for your skin type. Just because someone on social media is using it and is having good results doesn’t mean it’s good for you. Age, lifestyle and genetics have a big impact on your skin having a skin consultation to find out what you need can save you time and money.

4. They aren’t telling you the truth. Influencers get paid to sell you these products they may say it improves their texture but it may have done absolutely nothing.

5. You don’t know what else they have been having done. Botox, micro-needling, fillers and chemical peels . These will all have an impact on their skin so yes their skin looks great but it may also be the £1000s spent on treatments and procedures that’s really giving them that ‘glass skin’ not the miracle moisturiser they are selling you.

If you take advice from anyone on social media choose skincare experts that have no affiliation with brands to get the best advice.

Have a skin consultation to see what you actually need and find out your skin type. You don’t be pressured in to buying their products if you don’t want to but it will give you a better idea of what you may need to treat your concerns.

Diet and lifestyle have a bigger impact on your skin than products. All the products in the world won’t take away your stressed undernourished skin. That’s why in all my facials I put an importance on massage which offers relaxation, increased blood circulation and stress relief these will have a positive impact on your skin health.

I have had so many requests for this treatment and so many questions about it I thought I would do a post. It’s a treatment that can give incredible results and make you feel amazing. Many people have more energy, less bloating and improves their immune system. Maybe you have been feeling sluggish and puffy and no matter what you eat your just can’t seem to get rid of the bloated feeling. Well manual lymphatic drainage is definitely a treatment to try. Not only can it help with all this is incredibly relaxing and calms the nervous system with slow rhythmic movement’s.
