She did it! Congratulations to Carmela who completed her ‘poo plod’ yesterday – finishing her five-mile journey with a fanfare as she was welcomed back to school by students and staff.

Carmela, dressed as a toilet, accompanied by her mum in an inflatable poo costume, and supported by staff, students and parents, travelled to Bournemouth Pier and back to raise funds for accessible wash/dry toilets for the school.

Staff formed a guard of honour to mark her return to school at the end of the plod, with friends and classmates cheering her on.

So far, Carmela has raised more than £1,250 towards her fundraising goal, which will support students' dignity and independence.
