𝟰𝟬𝟬𝗵𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗺𝗮. 𝗬𝗼𝗴𝗮 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗽𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲

This training is for practitioners who know that working with young people requires more than good intentions.

It’s for experienced yoga teachers who want to:
• Work safely and ethically with mental health presentations
• Develop a trauma-informed, bottom-up approach
• Understand adolescent development, neuroscience and psychiatry
• Gain practical tools for schools, clinics and community settings
• Be part of a wider system of support, not working in isolation

Across 400 hours, trainees are guided through a rich integration of:
– Classical yogic philosophy
– Contemporary psychology and psychiatry
– Process-based supervision at recommended caseload ratios
– Cultural humility, diversity and intersectional awareness
– Whole-person, strengths-based approaches

Rather than focusing solely on what is “wrong” or “broken”, this training recognises young people’s innate capacity for healing, creativity and growth, and supports practitioners to meet them with steadiness, skill and compassion.

Graduates are prepared to work confidently within:
• Schools (including Mental Health Lead contexts)
• Youth and community settings
• Healthcare environments, including CAMHS-aligned services

Course fees
• Benefactor: £6500
• Standard: £5500
• Supported: £4500
• £500 non-refundable deposit
• Payment by instalments available

It’s been a long time since I posted here.
Yoga has been my constant companion and helped me navigate with self compassion and trust through grief, depression, menopause and cancer treatment in this time.
This is one of the wonderful things that has happened and I am so excited to see where this goes. Thanks so much to Charlotta Martinus and Teen Yoga for lighting my fire

When a young person steps into CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services) in Southampton, they are often carrying an invisible weight: anxiety,

🧘🏽‍♂️YOGA & FRIENDSHIP👭 During teenage years, young people face many trials and tribulations with friendships as teens start to break away from the family unit in search of deep and long-lasting relationships with others. Factors like social media can sometimes hinder meaningful connections. Uniting teens through yoga is a lovely way of building bonds, and creating a class around the friendship theme opens up many opportunities for discussion, sharing, and connection. The following topics on how to be a friend help foster conversations in regards to building strong relationships (courtesy of tinybuddha.com):

BE YOU. The greatest gift you can give to others is you—the real you. So, pull off your mask and be authentic.

BE ENCOURAGING. The kind words you have for others are a balm for their soul. Spread them liberally.

BE LOYAL. Through thick and thin, be loyal to your friend. From their best moments to their worst, stick by your friend’s side.

BE ACCEPTING. Just because someone is different from you doesn’t mean you can’t find common ground on which to build a firm friendship. Go outside your “zone” to find friends.

BE A LISTENER. Truly listen to your friend. It’s a good practise to be present.

Beautiful sunrise on this solstice morning.

“May you find peace in the promise of the solstice night,
That each day forward is blessed with more light,
That the cycle of nature, unbroken and true,
Brings faith in your soul and well-being to you.
Rejoice in the darkness, in the silence find rest,
And may the days that follow be abundantly blessed.”

My lovely friend and colleague Anna is running the London marathon in October to raise much needed funds for Mind.

It has been such a pleasure and privilege to teach yoga for Solent Mind and I have seen how essential and life saving their work is.

I am delighted to be teaching a yoga class for Anna’s fundraising event this Saturday 17th September at Portswood Church, Portswood Road, Southampton at 130-230pm (suggested donation £5)

All are welcome, no experience necessary!

Afterwards there will be tea/coffee and cake and other activities.

If you can't make it but would like to donate to Mind anyway then please use this link to Anna’s fundraising page:

New September class schedule coming soon. I promise lots of letting go 🍃

HELLO SEPTEMBER,
THE SEASON OF LETTING GO

And so begins the season of letting go,
when Mother Nature shows us all,
how it’s done.
Let go,
free yourself,
shake it off,
drop it,
give way for the new.
Create space for new thoughts, new ideas,
new adventures and new connections,
by shedding the dead weight you’ve been carrying around,
for so long.
And whilst you are there, being reborn and renewed,
let go of old anxieties too.
Let go of any doubts, fears or beliefs which no longer serve you well.
Release bitterness or past hurts which feast on your beauty.
Be brave,
Don’t fear the nakedness as your leaves slip away.
Mother Nature doesn’t,
watch and learn.
