Volunteer spotlight: Stockport depot at The Wellspring

Recently our Stockport colleagues rolled up their sleeves at The Wellspring - a local charity helping people who are homeless or at risk of losing their home.

Arrived with £100 of requested supplies
Made hot drinks & sandwiches for service users
Shared smiles, chats and plenty of care

This is just the beginning! We’re already looking at new ways to keep supporting The Wellspring all year round.

💡 Where is CES today? Insights from NAEP 2025 💡

This year's NAEP - National Association of Equipment Providers Annual Conference gave us a clear view of the sector’s current state:
- Sustainability in focus: A keynote session questioned the net-zero commitment for equipment providers
- Immersive empathy: Delegates tried VR simulators for dementia and autism, shaping future training and design
- Actionable workshops: From skin-integrity in dementia to referral-pathway optimisation, eight workshops highlighted clinical and operational priorities

At Millbrook Healthcare’s stand, we discussed how our referral processes, route-optimisation tools and training initiatives support these industry aims. NAEP 2025 reminded us that while CES continues to innovate, our core mission - enabling independence and dignity - remains the same.

This Carers Week we’re joining the national call to recognise and support the UK’s unpaid carers.

We work alongside carers every day - people who quietly go above and beyond to help loved ones live independently, safely and with dignity.

To every carer we meet through our services: we see you, we value you, and we are here to support you. We actively consult with carers to understand their needs, ensuring that their feedback helps shape our services.

Mental Health Awareness Week: Walking for Wellbeing

This week during Mental Health Awareness Week, we’re proud to support one of our own - Sam Marsland from our Tameside service - who is hiking across the UK to raise funds for a cause close to his heart.

Sam is taking on these challenges in support of a mental health charity that helped him through some incredibly difficult times. His courage to share his journey, and his commitment to giving back, are truly inspiring.

Nurses’ Day 2025: Honouring Our Nurses, Shaping Our Future

This International Nurses’ Day, we proudly celebrate the compassion, strength, and dedication of nurses everywhere.

Under this year’s theme, “Our Nurses. Our Future. Caring for nurses strengthens economies,” we’re reminded that the well-being of our nurses is essential not just for health systems—but for the communities they serve every day.

From hospitals to homes, nurses bring healing with every interaction. Their ability to listen, support, and advocate is the heartbeat of healthcare—and we are incredibly grateful.
Today and every day, we say thank you.

Today, on Earth Day, we’re proud to reflect on the meaningful ways we care - for our people, our communities, and our environment. At Millbrook Healthcare, our commitment to making a positive impact extends well beyond our core services.

Our volunteering days policy encourages team members to support causes that inspire them - an opportunity that truly reflects our values. This year, every service centre received a bird box and bee hotel, underscoring our commitment to the environment. We captured the moment with a photo, celebrating how we’re collectively helping protect biodiversity and foster positive change in our communities.
