There is a hige array of products for bottle feeding out there - how do you choose??
Look for a teat shape that is most likely to enable your baby to achieve a good seal and to use their oral muscles effectively. A gradually sloping teat is usually better for your baby to do this. Our advice? Avoid the dome shape - in our experience this often results in a poor seal and the issues that this brings.
Obviously if you have tried a change of teat with a good paced feeding technique and your baby is still struggling it could be something else - contact us if you and your baby nees support.

Nose to ni**le is the line you have probably heard the most when you're learning to breastfeed!
Has it helped, or have you found that your baby ends up with a shallow latch and a small mouth no matter what you do?
It may help to think about 'chin to skin' with the ni**le appearing to point up toward the baby's nostrils instead. Watch to find out..

On average nearly 50% of women in England give birth now by C Section. A third have their labours induced. Around 10% have an instrumental delivery. All of these situations can affect how your baby feeds. Whilst we can't change the system, we can help you with knowledge about what might affect your feeding journey, and more importantly what you can do to prepare and to overcome any challenges.
We are midwives and understand modern maternity systems, but we are also infant feeding specialists who can spend quality time with you - and your supporters - in your own home. We are qualified to give advice in even the most complex situations, and to help you to create a feeding plan.

Laura is sitting her exam tomorrow to become an IBCLC (Intenational Board Certified Lactation Consultant)!
You can only take the exam after extensive study and experience with giving feeding support.
An IBCLC is the 'gold standard' in feeding support and we are qualified to deal with even the most complex of feeding challenges.
