When planning and preparation come together....

In March I planted tomato seeds from 9 different varieties, I loved them, nurtured them and cared for them. They had a special place in the house called my 'Germination Station" which had heat and lights. When we went away my daughter had to look after the dog, the cats and the tomato plants. Needless to say she was most worried about the survival of the tomato plants.
She did a good job.

This week we are picking tomatoes every day and having the most beautiful tomato salads. There will be soups and sauces to put in the freezer so we can enjoy the tomatoes throughout the year.

Do you ever push yourself hard in order to achieve?

My daughter bought me entry to Barry Island 10k for Mother's Day 😩. (Note to self leave spa brochures around before Mother's day next year!)
Did I want to do it?
No!!!

I'd been told it was hilly - I can't run up hills, my asthma takes over. My chest gets tight, I can't breathe and then I start to panic. Hills are NOT my friend.

I knew this was not going to be good for me. I've run a 10k before it wasn't the distance it was the hills. As we drove down to Barry I was scared, I didn't want to do it, but I did want to do it! Have you ever felt like that? I needed my inner strength and all the resilience I could muster to get out of the car and walk to the start.

Anyway my determination took over, I made a plan, I would run the flat sections and the downhills and would walk up the hills. That would be ok - as long as I finished that's what mattered. I couldn't let my daughter down.

So I started and I ran, ran, walked and ran. Once I saw the finish line I relaxed and ran to the line as fast as I could.

And I did finish and I beat my previous time, ok only by 2 seconds but still a win is a win.
