🌸🌼 A Blooming Lovely Day in Our Garden! 🌼🌸

Yesterday at LakeView Nursing Home, we rolled up our sleeves, popped on our gardening gloves, and got stuck into another joyful planting session! This time, our garden welcomed a colourful new family of pansies and begonias — and we must say, they’re already stealing the show 🌺✨

A huge thank you to Derrick and his friend Cilia for their kind donation of pansies and begonias to our garden 💚 Thanks to you, it’s looking more beautiful than ever!

Of course, no gardening adventure would be complete without a bit of help from our tiniest (and most enthusiastic!) volunteers — Nancy and Elsie 💕 These two little green-fingered helpers were absolutely buzzing with excitement, showing true love for all things flowers and greenery. We’re fairly certain they gave the plants a pep talk too… and honestly, it seems to have worked! 🌱😄

Between the laughter, a bit of playful digging, and some “expert-level” watering (with only minimal splashing 💦😉), our garden is looking more beautiful than ever. It’s not just about planting flowers — it’s about growing smiles, memories, and a little bit of magic together 🌷

We’re so proud of our blooming space and the wonderful people who help bring it to life 💚

Our wonderful ladies brought smiles, laughter, and a touch of nostalgia with their joyful karaoke session – singing along to Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da. 💃🎶 Their energy truly brightened the day and reminded us all how powerful music and togetherness can be.

Welcome to the first May weekend to all our wonderful followers! 🌿☀️

These beautiful spring days invite us outdoors, and our Residents are truly embracing every moment. Fresh air, gentle sunshine, and time spent enjoying their favourite activities bring so much joy and wellbeing. 🌼💚

Yesterday was especially heartwarming as we celebrated a truly special occasion — the birthday of our lovely Mereani. 🎉 She chose to spend her day with us here at LakeView, making it all the more meaningful.

Together, we sang a cheerful “Happy Birthday” just for her, and surprised her with a small birthday cake 🎂 and a symbolic candle. It was a delightful, warm, and memorable celebration filled with smiles, laughter, and kindness. ✨

🌸🌼 Welcome, 1️⃣st May! 🌼🌸

As May Day arrives, we’re reminded of those charming old British traditions — maypoles, flower crowns, and the simple joy of welcoming brighter days ahead. A lovely, old-fashioned moment to pause and celebrate the beauty of spring 💐

Today, we’re delighted to share some truly special snapshots from the joyful moments spent with our wonderful Residents. Oh… and there have been so many! It’s all about those simple pleasures — laughter, connection, and appreciating each little moment 💛

With the weather treating us kindly, time outdoors has become part of our daily rhythm. From gentle strolls and enjoying nature, to relaxing in our garden (with an ice lolly in hand, of course! 🍦🌿), these are the moments that make days brighter.

And what would life be without a little pampering? Our lovely hairdresser Janine has been working her magic — because truly, nothing beats a bit of self-care. From grooming and hand massages to a variety of engaging activities, our Residents are always finding ways to enjoy themselves ✨

There’s always music in the air, smiles all around, and often a song or two to lift the spirit 🎶

Thank you for being with us and for your continued support — it means the world to us.

🌼🌿 A warm welcome on this final day of April! 🌿🌼

This week at LakeView, we have been delighted to celebrate National Gardening Week with our much-loved Garden Escapades. 🌸

Yesterday, our wonderful residents enjoyed a meaningful day outdoors, joined by the incredible Uebert Angel Foundation Group with Mereani Kotomaikaciwa . Together, we planted a beautiful variety of colourful flowers in our garden — a space where we spend many peaceful and sunny moments. 🌷🌱☀️

Thanks to the Foundation’s generous donation of fresh flower seedlings, our garden has been instantly transformed — now brighter, warmer, and full of life. 🌺💛

We extend our sincere thanks to our friends at the Uebert Angel Foundation. Your kindness truly means so much to our residents. Time spent in nature, sensory engagement with flowers, and the simple joy of being outdoors provide valuable therapeutic benefits, particularly for those living with dementia. 🌿🧠💚

We also had a very special celebration yesterday… 🎉
A huge Happy 8️⃣9️⃣th Birthday to our lovely resident, Pamela! 🎂🎈
With singing, birthday cake, and heartfelt wishes, it was a truly joyful occasion dedicated entirely to her.

Pamela, we wish you endless happiness and as many joyful moments as there are flowers in bloom across the world. 💐✨

In Loving Memory of David 🕊️

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Gwyneth, Lynn, Ian, and all of David’s family, who entrusted us with his care during his time at Lake View Nursing Home.

In his memory, they have very kindly donated £500.00 to the Lakeview Residents and Team Comfort Fund. We are also deeply thankful for the beautiful cards received from the family — each department in our home was truly touched by your kind words, appreciation, and warmth.

David will be fondly remembered by us all, especially for his warmth, his sense of humour, and his much-loved phrase, “Thank you nicely,” which brought so many smiles.

Your generosity and thoughtful messages mean a great deal to us all. They reflect the special bond shared with David and will help support the comfort and wellbeing of both our residents and staff, continuing his memory in a meaningful way.

It was a privilege to care for David, and he will always be remembered with great fondness.

Good morning, dear followers and friends of LakeView ☀️💛

What a glorious weekend we’ve just enjoyed! The weather was simply beautiful, and yesterday’s London Marathon was truly inspiring — full of determination, energy, and incredible achievements 🏃‍♂️👏 What a fantastic atmosphere it brought!

Yesterday was also a very special day for us as we celebrated the 7️⃣8️⃣th birthday of our dear Stuart 🎂🎉 There was joyful singing, a delicious birthday cake, and so many warm wishes. Most importantly, Stuart was surrounded by the love of his wonderful family, who gathered to celebrate this meaningful occasion together 💖

From all of us at LakeView, we wish our dear birthday gentleman many more happy, sunny days just like yesterday.

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Yvonne, Jaide, and Adge’s family and friends, who entrusted us with his care during his time at Lakeview.

Yippie Yippie… Hello and warm greetings to all our lovely LakeView friends! 🌼💛

How are you all doing? We are feeling very happy and wonderfully spring-like here at LakeView! 🌷🌞

Yesterday the world celebrated Earth Day, and we marked the occasion too by appreciating the beauty of nature all around us. It was a perfect moment to pause, smile, and feel grateful for our surroundings. 🌍🌿

It was also a very special day for another reason — we had the joy of celebrating the 8️⃣5️⃣th birthday of our dear resident Doris! 🥳🎉🎈🎂

We spent this lovely occasion together with Doris at our favourite nearby Toby Carvery, where everything felt truly festive and elegant. There was a beautiful birthday cake with candles, a cheerful round of Happy Birthday, warm wishes, delicious food, sweet treats, desserts, and refreshing drinks. It was a wonderful celebration filled with smiles, laughter, and great company. 💐🍰✨

We are so happy we could spend such a special day together in such a charming atmosphere.

A big thank you to the wonderful Toby Carvery team for their kind and professional service — you helped make the day even more memorable! 👏💛

Welcome this Wednesday everyone! 🌼☀️

Yesterday we had the pleasure of celebrating National Tea Day here at LakeView ☕💛 and what a truly lovely afternoon it was. Our residents enjoyed spending quality time together over a warm cup of tea while taking part in a special Reminiscence Discussion Session centred around cherished tea traditions 🇬🇧☕, familiar music that brought back wonderful memories 🎶💭, and of course a browse through our much-loved “Sixties” Reminiscence Box 📦✨

Some residents also shared precious moments while looking through their family photo albums 📖🖼️, sparking heartfelt conversations, sincere smiles 😊 and plenty of laughter 😄. The warmth and joy shared between residents and staff created a very special atmosphere filled with connection, friendship and kindness 🤝💛

Our Reminiscence Karaoke Session 🎤🎵 was, as always, a highlight of the day—lifting spirits, encouraging confidence and bringing back beautiful memories through music and shared experiences 💃🕺

Reminiscence sessions are incredibly important for our residents’ wellbeing 💙 They help support memory, strengthen identity, encourage communication, and create opportunities to connect with others. Most importantly, they bring comfort, confidence and happiness by celebrating each resident’s unique life story in a supportive and friendly environment 🌟

It was a truly heart-warming afternoon filled with conversation, music, smiles and togetherness—and we are already looking forward to the next one! ☕✨😊
