Our Dentist Gareth will be running Cardiff Half Marathon on Sunday 5th October dressed as an elephant to raise money for the charity .cymru

A very sad day for us today saying goodbye to our Dental Nurse, Olivia. She is moving on to pastures new to work as an Oral Health Educator for Design to Smile who cover schools in RCT.

Olivia has worked for us since qualifying as a Dental Nurse in 2018 and we are very proud of her achievements.

She will be sorely missed by patients and staff alike.

It’s been a pleasure to watch you grow and develop in your career Olivia. We have shared some great times and happy memories together.

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we bid farewell to one of our longest serving Dental Nurses Julie Roberts, as she waves goodbye to all of us to start her retirement journey today!

Julie has been an integral part of our team and work family for the last 16 years and will be greatly missed by staff and patients alike.

We would all like to take this opportunity to thank Julie for her support and hard work over the years and for being such a good work colleague, friend and confidant to all of us here at Gareth Blinman and Associates.

Thank you Julie for all the lovely memories, good times and laughter we have shared together over the years!

Gareth Blinman & Associates are pleased to have been awarded a Bronze Award in the Greener Primary Care Wales Framework and Awards Scheme for 2024. The scheme from Public Health Wales has been designed to help primary care contractors to improve the environmental sustainability of their day to day practice. Some of the actions that we undertook was to:

*Make improvements to the practice environment by installing new double glazed windows and more efficient lighting and heating systems

*Improve our patient recall process by replacing paper letter recalls with a text messaging service

*Encourage our patients to make appointments at the same time as their family members to minimise unnecessary travel and time

*Ensure that the practice is committed to recycling and takes measures to reduce waste as much as possible

We are committed to continue to make our practice as environmentally sustainable as possible.

Happy Halloween! 🎃👻

Have fun but try & follow these 5 top tips if you can!

🎃 Keep sweets to mealtimes only to reduce the amount of time teeth are exposed to them.

👻Limit the number of houses you visit as this will help cut down how many sweets are collected.

🎃Make sure your child does not eat sweets one hour or less before bedtime, as they could risk brushing off enamel from their teeth which has been weakened by an acid attack.

👻Supervise brushing their teeth with a fluoride toothpaste before they go to bed. Brushing last thing at night is important as the mouth produces less saliva overnight.

🎃Offer sugar-free treats such as cheese, nuts or breadsticks as they are healthy alternative and do not cause tooth decay.
