Pharmacy’s across Wales are trying to promote the good work we do, in a quest to ensure we’re adequately funded. Some of the services we provide are the moment: such as blood pressure checks go unfunded. Survey’s like the one below help capture the positive role Prescribing Pharmacy’s like our’s can provide to our local community.

We are inviting you to tell us about pharmacy services in your area.

This is to help us plan services for our patients now and in the future to make sure they meet your needs, using a process called a ‘pharmaceutical needs assessment’.

Your answers will help us identify if there are any service gaps, for example whether a pharmacy (also called a ‘chemist’) is needed in a particular area, or whether more pharmacies need to provide a particular service.

⭐️ A huge thank you to our AMAZING staff for their work in helping to protect the local community during the 2025-2026 flu season.

Today we received recognition from the local health board for delivering over 800 flu vaccinations: helping to increase community protection against flu, supporting vulnerable patients to stay well over winter and reducing pressure on NHS services.

We’re incredibly proud of our team and we’d like to extend a huge THANK YOU to all the patients who chose to get their flu jabs with us! It’s amazing to be part of such a caring community, committed to keeping our community safe & well this winter! ⭐️

I’m re-sharing this post by fellow Pharmacist and business owner Gwawr. Community Pharmacies like our’s - family run business’s across Wales, reliant on the NHS & Welsh Government for funding - are struggling. We love what we do. We love our community. We hope we mask a lot of the issues & problems we face from our patient’s & customers.

Please take a read of the article below. Medicines shortages are at an all time high, a lot of the medication we dispense is at a loss. Increases in business rates, NI, minimum wage will all add to the burden too. We’d like to raise awareness for the issues pharmacies across Wales face & also help highlight the important role we play in medicines supply & in helping to see and treat patients with minor ailments each weekday.

If you agree with the sentiment shared, please help us highlight the issue with our local AM’s, so we can proactively push for fair funding and positive change.

With costs escalating, pharmacies are making a loss on essential items such as aspirin.

👂 👂 👂 She’s back!!! Vic our absolutely amazing ear specialist is in each Tuesday. 👂 👂 👂

If you’re contemplating ear wax removal pop in & have a free consultation with Vic! She can look in your ears using an otoscope and assess whether ear wax removal via micro-suction would be a viable option to you!

If it is, we charge £45 for removal of wax from one ear & £60 for removal of wax from both. 10% blue light discount applies.

If the underlying cause of your ear pain isn’t due to a build up of ear wax but instead there’s an underlying ear infection we can also potentially offer FREE NHS treatment with our independent prescribing Pharmacists: Tom, Josh & Dan.

Treorchy Pharmacy offers a FREE NHS sore throat test and treat service to patient’s aged 5 years upwards. You don’t need an appointment, just walk in and we’ll arrange for you to have a consultation with a Pharmacist. We can potentially provide FREE antibiotics if the underlying cause of your symptoms is bacterial and FREE pain relief if it’s viral.

For all non-urgent illnesses over the festive period, your local pharmacy can help with NHS advice and medication for minor illnesses or injuries. You can also use the NHS 111 Wales online symptom checker.

We’ve seen a surge in demand for flu vaccines. The NHS is urging anyone eligible to get their flu vaccination to help prevent them getting seriously ill.

Treorchy Pharmacy still has supply of both over 65 and under 65 NHS flu vaccines. FREE NHS Vaccinations are available on a walk-in basis.

Due to unprecedented demand we have had to re-stock our PRIVATE FLU vaccines. New vaccines are being delivered on Wednesday. We will be booking patient’s in from Thursday 18th December onward. Private flu jabs cost £20. Please call us on: 01443 772183 if we can help.

Our fabulous ear specialist & gorgeous ‘Christmas Elf’ Vic is back with us in Treorchy on Tuesday!!

If you’re suffering with ear wax & want the gift of un-impaired hearing this Christmas please pop in this Tuesday! An initial consultation with Vicki is free, if you need ear wax removing via micro-suction she charges £45 for one ear, £60 for both ears.
