The trees are showing us it’s time to let go . They do it every year as they are attuned to their growth and development. Knowing that they can have a rest in the winter and be recharged for Spring.

Letting go of things we are holding onto that are making us unhappy can be tricky as sometimes we aren’t even sure what it is it where it’s come from .

Counselling can help you work through these winter moments to find your Spring again 🌷❤️

⛅️ I love clouds and they really remind me of my childhood. Reminding me the most of a day when I lost someone very close to me .
🍳 When I saw this cloud I had a big fried egg moment- what’s fried egg moment you might be thinking . It’s when your memories and love for that person (your yolk) overtakes you and your white (being your everyday life ).
You remember them ,emotions come and then it passes and your yolk goes back to the normal size and you go about your day.
Grief is something that we all move through in our own way and 42 years on the fried egg moments still come and I love it when they do ❤️

September is a month of change for me and lots if you in many different ways . With children starting new adventures and flying the nest to uni this leaves me feeling wow it’s really happening . I feel like I need the feathers to be there a little longer . Are you feeling the same ?

September brings change for children, parents and families — from school transitions to empty nests. A therapist’s perspective on coping with change.

Back to school season 🎒✏️

Whether it’s you heading back into the classroom or waving your little one off at the gates, transitions can feel big — for children and for us parents.

Letting go of their hand on that first day, sending them back after six weeks of summer without much routine… it can stir up nerves and anxiety for everyone. I felt it myself walking back into school today — a little wobbly, but also ready to find my routine again.

For some, those school gates can feel overwhelming. 💭 What helps?
✨ Listen to how they’re feeling
✨ Chat about their day
✨ Reintroduce gentle routines
✨ Remind them they’re not alone in feeling this way
✨ Share your own feelings too — sometimes we need to hear “me too”

Be proud of each other and take it one day at a time ❤️

It’s A-Level results day tomorrow, and you can almost feel the tension in the air 🎓✨

Just a gentle reminder — whatever the envelope says, it does not define who you are or what you’re capable of ❤️

Your value is so much more than a grade.

I’m feeling grateful today 🌸💜

One of my little joys is spending time in my garden and bringing in fresh flowers to brighten up my kitchen. This lovely jug was a recent charity shop find, and it makes me smile every time I see it.

Gratitude doesn’t have to be about big things — often it’s the small, everyday moments that lift our spirits and keep us grounded.

What’s something you’re grateful for today? 💐✨

I was listening to the Good Enough Counsellors podcast on my walk yesterday, and it really got me thinking about the power of connection and compassion — not just in the counselling room, but in everyday life.

I took this photo a few months ago in Malta, and I keep coming back to it. Just a fingertip touch — yet it speaks volumes. Sometimes, the smallest gestures hold the most meaning.

Compassion for others often feels easier than compassion for ourselves. But we’re human — we all need care, softness, and support. Always holding it together can be exhausting.

So today, if you’re feeling a little overwhelmed or just need to feel seen, reach out. Share a thought. Let someone in. You never know the impact it could have 💜

Whatever your day brings, I hope it brings a little light.

I know I hold off from doing things sometimes. Procrastination can be huge — whether it’s putting off the to-do list, saying how we really feel, or doing something just for ourselves.

I saw this card yesterday and it made me smile… “Life is short, lick the bowl!”

Such a simple reminder that life isn’t about being perfect — it’s about being present.

If you’re finding it hard to move forward or feeling stuck, therapy can help you understand what’s holding you back. You don’t have to do it alone.

✨ I love this image — and it felt especially fitting as yesterday marked my last day in school before the summer break.

As part of my Purple Steps Counselling practice, I spend two days a week supporting teenage girls in school. In the lead-up to the holidays, we often talk about what fills their cup — the things that bring joy, comfort, or calm — and how they can weave those into their summer.

It’s also a gentle reminder for me to reflect on my own self-care. While I’m still seeing private clients over the summer, I’ll also be making space for the things that nourish me: long walks, baking, a bit of (well-deserved!) trashy TV, and time with friends.

💭 What haven’t you done in a while that truly fills your cup? ❤️

Life isn’t always easy — and choosing to have therapy is a huge first step. 💬✨
Whether it takes a few sessions or becomes a longer journey, there will be ups and downs along the way. But as my tutor told us when I was training years ago: “Trust the process.” 💛
