Some thoughts and words from a summer of joy, reflection, depth and discovery.

Still committed to all the things that have lit me up, and all the arts that inspire me to my core....

But decided it was time to bite the bullet and speak from my heart to my people, and step closer to what really lights me up.

Because I am no longer here to try and be something to everyone.

I've had several loud-and-clear messengers lately saying:

Let go of the pleaser. Release the perfectionist. Dare to stake your claim, Camilla! Show up more.

Be yourself. Deeply.

So this post is for my fellow heartfelt creatives and soul-led entrepreneurs out there: the intense ones, the passionate ones, the ones who *know* they have a calling and that their creativity is their path. For better or for worse.

You're the ones I'm really here for, and who will get the most from working with me.

So if this resonates, bring your mind, your body, your heart, your voice and your soul work, where it delights you and where it confronts you - it is all so welcome here.

As I walk this path for myself, I will help you integrate your shadow creator, break through what is keeping you small, help you unravel new layers of self-expression, and nourish your ideas to life as you find freedom and safety in the wild creativity you already ARE.

Let me know if you're here for it.

I'm excited to build a community of like-minded, like-hearted souls here, so please say hi if this is you!!

Love ❤️

More to come on creativity...

(Big lessons this week!)

But as a musing today - if I had to say what one thing has therapeutic work for me really been about?

If I had to say what is the work I do with others *really* about? - my answer would be:

Freeing the heart.

❤️🪽

Freeing your heart to want what it wants, to find joy where it finds joy, and to CREATE what it wants to create.

Because I believe life is always a creative endeavour.

We are always being called forward to express.

So let's do it, and be good, integrated humans as we go.

Controversial opinion: a diagnosis doesn't mean there is something 'wrong' with you.

You may have disordered eating.

You may be depressed.

You may be anxious.

You may be burned out.

You may be overwhelmed.

*You* are not wrong.

Dysfunction is never purely dysfunctional.

They are all valid and intelligent, adaptive responses to life.

To what you have lived, experienced, endured, survived.

OPI views disordered eating, depression, anxiety, burnout and overwhelm as messengers to be listened to, respected and entered into relationship with, rather than as pathologies or problems to fix.

I'm not saying everyone should share this opinion, but I do want to ask this:

What *feels* better? What feels more spacious? Which approach feels more gentle? More compassionate? More permissive, as you navigate the day-to-day?
..The notion that you have an illness, that you are sick, that "something's wrong with you", that you need to "get better"?...

Or the notion that how you are feeling could be a wise and nuanced response to the conditions of your life - emotionally, environmentally, socially, biologically and spiritually - and that your symptoms are a language yearning to be understood, so that you can meet your needs differently??

To each their own, but here's what's been true for me:

The first perspective only served to increase my own disordered eating, depression, anxiety, burnout and overwhelm, drastically.

The second perspective set me on a profound journey of healing which has equipped me with a skillset not only to navigate my own way through mental health difficulties, but to help others do the same in an integrative capacity.

I'm curious, what resonates most with you?

We are not broken. We are human beings.

We don't need fixing.

We just need more understanding.

No part of us needs to be rooted out, got rid of, or deleted.

We just need more compassion.

More permission to express and be set free.

We don't need more analysis.

We just need to be witnessed, seen and heard with
kindness. By each other and by ourselves.

Because finally being seen and heard and feeling felt by another human being can change everything.

We don't need to go over everything for the fiftieth time.

We don't need to intellectualise our feelings or have them married up to a theory, by someone who "knows".

We just need to be met by a presence that can hold us, and help us hold ourselves as clarity begins to emerge.

We don't need to become anything more than we already are in our being.

Resting back into our being (ironically) permits the deepest transformation. The most profound and integrated change.

Our being holds great power and can collapse the timelines for living authentically into what truly calls to us in this lifetime.

If you have a yearning or a longing and this resonates, drop me and line.

Let's explore how I can help you radically step free from any story of brokenness that may be holding you back.

We become so much more beautiful when we stop making beauty personal.

When we are trying to make ourselves beautiful, we emanate trying.

We emanate, 'should'.

We emanate 'not enough as I am'.

We emanate insecurity and fall vulnerable to cruel or negative comments - most viciously of all, of course, from ourselves.

When we remember beauty is not something that belongs to us, we emanate freedom.

We emanate, 'I am.'

We emanate acceptance.

And freedom and acceptance are beautiful.

When we remember beauty is not something we can get, we shed the weight of acquisitiveness and can move more lightly.

And inhabiting ourselves lightly is beautiful.

When we remember beauty is not in our face, our body size, our skin elasticity or the colour of our hair, we can finally *become* our true beauty.

Which is our own aliveness.

Which is our being.

Aliveness is beautiful.

Our beauty is in our being.

Let me know if this resonates in the comments.

It feels this way to me.

When people fall into being - when they come home to it within themselves, which is to say, to themselves within themselves - they typically go, 'ohhhhh yes, I remember now'.

It's not new. It's deeply familiar.

We all began in being.

Rediscovering it is a homecoming, not a departure.

It feels so welcoming, so true, that it seems impossible not to feel that there is some intelligent kindness behind it, which underlies even perhaps nature's cruelty and tragedy.

Where and when do you feel your interconnectedness? Your belonging? Your being?

Our beingness is not separate from the beingness of everything, of all life.

How we respond to our irrevocably immersive relationship with it determines so much about how we experience life.

How can we learn to live in harmony with life rather than in refusal of it?

When we come home to our being - our belonging - we get to decide what kind of a relationship with ourself and our life we want.

And then we can build that.

If you have been looking for a new beginning, a different way of relating to yourself or your life - this might just be it.
