Hello, welcome to the therapy room and the next installment of our Sunday self-care series! This will probably be the last episode as we come up to the Christmas break so I hope this is useful for you today.

Journaling has become a tool that I use frequently not just for therapeutic intervention but also for processing any emotions I have at any given time. It's a tool that anyone can use, you don't need any special training or to learn anything new, just yourself, some paper and a pen.

By allowing our feelings to come through on paper, it helps us to see what's actually going on for us and process it in a much slower manner. Writing things down takes more time than saying things out loud so this process naturally gives more time to our thoughts.

Give it a go today and see how useful it can be for you. I find I use this tool on a regular basis. Sometimes I may use it weekly. Sometimes it may be a bit more sporadic but I know it is always there when I need it.

Have a great weekend and I look forward to seeing you again soon.

This week Sunday self care is focusing on movement! Keeping ourselves active and moving is really important to stay healthy but also keep us safe as we get older. These days I focus on moving in ways that will benefit me as I get older. For this reason I love who makes exercise enjoyable and engaging! The snack pass is my favourite purchase each month! So whatever you do this week, add some movement, not only will you future self appreciate it but it can support your mental health too.

I am so proud to work with to bring a peer group to Marlow Rugby Club. This is a safe space to bring anything and talk with others about support you might need. This includes feelings and emotions you may be currently experiencing, coping strategies for difficult emotions and creative self care support, all shared with a community loved by its players.

If you play for Marlow Rugby Club and are over 18, ask your coach for more details. We look forward to seeing you there.

We spend so much time focusing on the next activity, the next task, that we forget to enjoy the present moment. So today I share with you a tip from my supervisor on how to spend time in the present moment.

This trick helps me to stay in the present every morning. That first hot drink you have, whether it's tea, coffee, or even hot juice, enjoy it from start to finish. No phone to distract you, you can stay in the present moment and just notice what's going on around you. It could be that you achieve something great and this is the time you can remember that. It could be that you had a rubbish day the day before, this time could allow you to feel those feelings. Whatever you use it for, those few minutes in your day can really change the way it all turns out for you.

So stay in the present, enjoy that first drink and see how it helps to change your presence each day

Hello and welcome to the next episode of self-care Sunday. This week I am letting you in on my daily night time routine. This routine is the only thing that gets me in the sleepy zone, it helps me to let go off all the stress of the day. I hope my routine can help you too.

.

Being with other people who make you feel loved, special and cared about is a fantastic way to take care of yourself. It reminds us that we are loved, that people do care about us and helps to to distract us from all the mundane or difficult things that are going on in the world.

For me, that looks like spending time with my son. As he splits his time between myself and his dad over the course of a week, I like to focus on good quality time with him. Not only does it feel like it's important as he gets older, but also it really helps me to remember that we do have a great connection too.

So this weekend have a think about who you would like to spend time with. It could be family. It could be friends. It could be work colleagues. It could be anyone! Who makes you feel Joy? Have a great weekend and I hope you find someone that helps to refill your cup when you've had a hard week.

Welcome to my self care series! Self care is something everyone can do to help with their mental health. Self-care helps to refill our cup so we can continue to help ourselves and others. Over the next few weeks I will be sharing my self-care routines to help you add to your own self-care routines.

Today I went outside for a walk, enjoying the last bit of half term break and the sunshine. This really gave me some time to myself, I disconnected from all the chores and things that I feel I have to achieve each day and allowed me just to connect and be with nature. There are so many benefits to spending time outdoors so adding time outside to my self-care routine is always really important to me.

Over the next few weeks, I will share with you my different self-care routines which could be helpful to you. If there are any that you feel you want to share with me, feel free to put them in the comments below and we can always see if we have any that are similar. Enjoy the rest of your weekend and I'll see you next Sunday for my next self-care Sunday routine.

We all spend our lives looking for the messages from the universe that we are accepted, loved and cared for, that we matter. What if the signs we are looking for don't come to us the way they think they do? What if we miss them because we are too busy looking for the rainbow the way we always know it to be. Sometimes the signs are not how we know them.

This upside rainbow reminds me of that. Being open and curious about other possibilities brings me hope. What if I look at things differently, will I see other messages from the universe that I need?

Be open, be curious, sometimes exactly what we need has just been overlooked.
