So my name is Iain , I am a Hypnotherapist based in Troon and East Kilbride working out of comfortable therapy rooms in both locations . For many years I worked as a nurse in the NHS and although I am trained in Hypnotherapy I know it doesn’t apply to everything so if you contact me and if there is something more applicable out there that I know of I’ll signpost you , I essentially just want people to get the help they need .

I attended sessions with Iain due to a long-standing fear of falling, rooted in a childhood accident. But I also had a dream that refused to leave me - to learn to ice skate. After 4 months of ice skating lessons, I had reached a point where I was ready to quit because the fear was overwhelming. I felt close to panic attacks, and my muscles were tense, which ironically made falling even more likely. After just one session with Iain, my fear reduced significantly - from a 10/10 to a 6/10. I found myself cautiously leaving the safety of the barrier, managing a full circuit of the rink, and even skating down the center without holding onto my coach. By the second session, my fear had completely disappeared. I couldn’t believe the difference. Without fear, my muscles relaxed, my balance improved, and my confidence increased. Iain’s approach combined hypnotherapy with practical tools, which I found really effective. His background as a trained psychiatric nurse gave me confidence in his scientific understanding of fear, anxiety, and phobias. He was professional, friendly, and made me feel completely at ease throughout the process. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Iain to anyone seeking hypnotherapy.

Worked with Iain due to my difficult pattern sleeping. Iain has a very calm approach and really cares. I found his Mindfulness and Hypnotherapy very helpful. He has also provided me with Hypnotherapy recordings which I find very relaxing. He has also recommended some alternative therapy for me to try. I would highly recommend Iain.

No matter what the issue , apart from being solution focussed , Hypnotherapy is a relaxing and restorative experience so many clients say they feel so refreshed afterwards , especially as often our worries can have knock on effects such as poor sleep and difficulty relaxing . So why not get that boost you need to reset through Hypnotherapy .

There are many different beliefs and theories surrounding hypnosis, some true and some without foundation. One of these is that hypnosis involves clients relinquishing control which is not true . There is an Incorrect school of thought that believes the client enters a passive powerless state to the all-powerful hypnotherapist. This is not true in my opinion, a person cannot go into trance if they dont want to , nor despite what you see from stage hypnotists can you do anything you don’t want to . The person also cannot adhere to any suggestion unless it is agreeable to them, and their subconscious deems it helpful .

The environment is so important in Hypnotherapy and I am so lucky to work from comfortable rooms in both Troon and East Kilbride . The premises are used by other therapist which makes for a lovely therapeutic atmosphere .

Recent review from a clients daughter who was concerned about her mum and her difficulty swallowing solid food .

I was looking to try Hypnotherapy for my mum who was having some issues related to food ,I came across Iain online when searching for someone reading others reviews on Iain felt he was the person suited for my mum.My mum was quite anxious at first but soon felt at ease after her first meeting with Iain .My mum went on to have couple more sessions ,Iain also sent her a recording for her to use at home , I would definitely recommend giving Iain a try

It’s easy to make assumptions isn’t it ? If a person is doing something different or behaving in a way that is out of character or unfamiliar , we cannot attribute our judgements to others . Which is why I love this quote from Tolkien .

Bellow is my recommendation. Thank you again for all your help over the past couple of months. Could not have done it without you. I talked to my lecturer about my idea and she's even more excited about it than I am. Going to be a very big part of my course going forward I think.

After years of suffering from anxiety and self confidence issues, and trying therapy & counselling in the past, I contacted Iain to see if hypnotherapy could help me get over my issues. It was one of the best decisions I've ever made. Iain, and his combination of in-person sessions and self hypnosis tapes, has been instrumental in my recovery.
