| Wolf in Spiritual Clothing |
Over the past few months I've observed in person, online, through conversations and listening to podcasts/substacks and become more aware of what I call the `Wolf in Spiritual Clothing`.
I think this is a good thing that people are more aware and highlighting the inauthenticity of the spiritual ego.
They may talk a good game, seem knowledgeable and even adorn themselves with mala beads, tie-dyes and crystals but to quote a recent Substack post by my friend "spirituality is not an aesthetic" , it comes from within and shines from the soul. It does not play a role of 'spiritual' or have AI as their Spiritual online voice or even online face, weird I know.
If your inner compass is giving you a feeling that things are not as they seem, chances are they aren't. If someone is continually recommending courses or treatments that they happen to offer, then take heed my friend.
What's the drive for these people? Money, status and power mainly. Don't give your sovereignty away like I've harped on about before. Trust yourself before any spiritual teacher or 'guru'.
As always the guru is in you.
I'd recommend checking out The Skeptical Shaman Podcast from alongside Rachel's Substack; Rachel has some great episodes on navigating the business of woo, alongside for some really great reads on her own Substack and the Tales from the Truth Seekers Podcast.
