💛 Dying Matters Week 2026 💛
Monday 4th May marked the start of Dying Matters Awareness Week, and the theme for this year is “Let’s Talk About Death & Dying.”
At Templehill Funeral Directors, we’re proud to support Dying Matters Week and stand alongside organisations like Hospice UK, who champion compassionate end‑of‑life care and support for people and families across the UK.
This week encourages us to open up conversations that many of us find difficult — but conversations that truly matter. Talking about death doesn’t bring it closer, but it does bring understanding, comfort, and connection.
Dying Matters Week invites us to think about what’s important at the end of life:
✨ Being heard
✨ Being prepared
✨ Being supported
✨ Making sure our wishes — and the wishes of those we love — are known
Whether it’s discussing funeral wishes, sharing memories, planning ahead, or simply checking in on someone who’s grieving, every conversation helps make death a more open and compassionate topic.
Let’s use this week to start gentle, meaningful conversations and create space for honesty, care, and understanding. If you feel able, share your thoughts or experiences — together we can help make talking about death a natural part of life.
