See Someone Counselling

See Someone Counselling Qualified Counsellor for Adults, Young People and Children. My name is Amanda and offer counselling from my cosy garden cabin or online.

I have years of experience caring for people from all walks of life and ages. From pre-school children and teenagers, vulnerable adults and those coming into later life, people who have lived through abuse, experienced relationship disconnection or struggled with becoming a parent. I believe we are all doing our best and want to live life feeling connected and empowered. Old patterns can hold us b

ack at times, through working with me we can be curious together and explore new patterns which will serve you in a healthier way. No blame or shame, just greater understanding and acceptance to feel less burdened and freer to make informed choices going forward. I work with children from age 4 upwards, using play and art at a level which meets the age and stage of the child. Teenagers are offered creative interventions such as sensory materials or visual resources to encourage emotional literacy development as well as interventions to explore identity, reducing anxiety and increase self compassion and social connections. Psychoeducation offers young people an understanding of their developing brain through neuroscience and somatic responses. Adult work is about working with your past, present and future. I offer interventions which can offer new places to explore but you are always to leader, I just offer the option to go there. It is important you feel in control of the pace and the places we go, you are the expert of on your world.

Therapy block sessions can be a great way to maintain mental health and wellbeing.
These block sessions offer young people a discounted price to afford a space to talk through a current issue or to check-in with how they're doing on a regular basis.
These blocks can be repeated ( many clients do ) but the commitment is short term which can allow you time to take breaks and return when and if you feel it would benefit your wellbeing to do so.
Just pop me a message for more details with no commitment to attend.

Dan Hughes talks about his PACE model of working with children and teens who are challenging to connect with at times and push adults' boundaries to the point where things get out of control.

This model works from 4 key elements: Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, and Empathy. In this interview, there are many great examples of times we all can relate to as parents and carers of young people.

I use this model within my counselling practice, as a youth worker, as a parent, as well as in relationships generally. It's also part of my self-care when I am being hard on myself.

P.A.C.E. stands for playfulness, acceptance, curiosity, and empathy. It was developed by Dan Hughes, PhD and we are lucky enough to have him join us for this...

Anyone else watching this 4 part series? I'm half way through.
It is offering a positive into how therapy can be life changing for anyone.
Different people in therapy with different styles of therapists.

If therapy feels like the total unknown for you or you're as fascinated by therapy as I am, it's really worth a watch.

My inbox is always open for free consultations if you feel drawn to being a client and 'changing your mind' as the show title suggests.

I work with adults, teens and children online or in person from my garden cabin in Trowbridge.

Matt and Emma Willis take us inside the treatment rooms of leading therapists as they help breast cancer survivor Sarah tackle her feelings of guilt and Ben make sense of his ADHD diagnosis.

Apologies to anyone who has sent an email and not received a response.
My Gmail replies were not being delivered into people's inbox and ending up in spam folders.
I have created a new email address linked to my domain name from my website hosting account so hopefully all replies will find their way back to me.

Have you ever thought about 'The Rules' you learnt growing up?
Not all of the rules were said to us explicitly but as children navigate how to maintain connection, stay safe and feel a sense of belonging they need to work out 'The Rules'.
The family rules, the adults who feed and care for us rules, the systems such as schools and faith rules, the friendships we make rules, the peer group rules and so on.
Therapy can give a safe space to explore these 'rules' and how they are perhaps holding us back from finding our own way to live as authentically and in service of our true self.
If you would like to make time to explore yours together send me a message or you can make a referral via the website at www.seesomeonecounselling.co.uk

Fire Pits create a vibe, talking becomes easier and so does being quiet watching the flames.
If you have a teen who would benefit from talk therapy and loves a fire then maybe this could be the answer to giving them a safe space to offload and talk about their worries.
