🐴 A Special Day for Mrs S 💛
When we learned that one of our lovely clients used to help muck out stables with a friend, we knew we had to do something special.

So we contacted a nearby showjumping yard—and they kindly welcomed Mrs S for a visit.

Living with dementia doesn’t mean giving up the things you love. For Mrs S, being around animals—especially horses—brings calm, joy, and deep connection.

Supported by our Care Professional Ewa, we spent time with these beautiful horses and finished the visit with cake and coffee at Hartley farm café.

Sunday Smiles at Otter Homecare: One of our clients asked if we could help her get back to church on Sundays — and we were more than happy to help out.

Being able to continue with familiar routines, like attending a local service, can make a big difference and is part of supporting people in the way that matters most to them.

Yesterday, seven Otters took part in a Dementia Training Session with the amazing Annie from Alzheimer’s Support Wiltshire!

This interactive training included insights from people living with dementia and Alzheimer’s, giving us a powerful perspective on how to provide even better care and support for our lovely clients.

Alzheimer’s Support does incredible work in our local community, and many of our clients already benefit from their wonderful initiatives like Music for the Mind, Forget Me Not Cafés, and their welcoming day clubs.

Congratulations to 2 amazing Otters who have deservedly been awarded Care Professional of the month (Nikki for April and Irene for May). Both are very deserving of the recognition (and a small gift voucher) for the amazing work they have been doing to support our clients. Special mention should go to Nikki’s calmness under pressure and the speed at which she has adapted to the role. Irene has been part of the Otter Homecare story since the beginning and has built very good relationships with clients thanks to her positivity and deep experience and unwavering reliability!

🦦💚 OTTERS BREW & BLOOM – WRAP-UP POST! 💚🦦
A huge thank you to everyone who came along on Thursday to our Otters Brew & Bloom event in support of Mental Health Awareness Week and the Mental Health Foundation.

We’re so pleased to share that we raised £163, smashing our £150 goal! 🎉

From care professionals to friends and family, it was lovely to see so many people pop by for coffee and cake and to buy raffle tickets.

🌟 Special thanks to our brilliant Training Coordinator Abbey for organising and running the event so smoothly, and to Amanda, one of our amazing care professionals, for donating a weekend away in her caravan for the raffle!

🐒🦁🦦 A Wonderful Day at Longleat! 🦦🦁🐒

Last week our amazing Care Professional Becca took Mr & Mrs W on a special outing to Longleat Safari Park! Becca was able to arrange free tickets, knowing this experience would be a wonderful break for the couple during a challenging period.
They had an amazing day spotting all the incredible animals—from the cheeky monkeys to adorable otters (our favourite, of course)!

Because the fun lasted longer than planned, we were delighted to include the extra visit time as part of our "Otter Happy Hour" initiative, gifting additional time free to our clients, while ensuring our Care Professionals are fully rewarded for their kindness.

Congratulations to Krissy – Our Care Professional of the Month!

Choosing just one Care Professional of the Month for February was no easy task, as so many of our team have been doing incredible work. However, Krissy truly stood out!

Having only recently joined Otter Homecare, she has already built strong relationships with our clients and is consistently going above and beyond.

A keen cook, Krissy has even been sharing her talents by preparing and delivering meals to clients. We’ve heard that her Chicken Dinner was a big hit!
