Our Story
Part of the Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust, Trowbridge Maternity Unit is a midwife-led unit that provides antenatal, and postnatal care, as well as a homebirth service, and infant feeding support. Our team is made up of Midwives and Maternity Support Workers, some of whom also work in the acute unit at the RUH, and we regularly support student Midwives with their learning. Our midwives support births in the neighbouring birthing centres within the trust - Bath, Chippenham and Frome. We are working towards continuity team midwifery.
Our wealth of experience means that we have the skills and knowledge to support families throughout their pregnancy, labour & birth and in the first few days and weeks of parenthood.
Trowbridge Birthing Centre has six clinic rooms, an assessment room and postnatal room, so if it is a routine antenatal appointment, an ad-hoc visit for reassurance, a postnatal appointment for you and your baby, or infant feeding support , we will be delighted to welcome you.
