T.U.G Trowbridge (service) Users Group is a service user run and lead project, open to everyone using AWPs mental health services in Trowbridge and surrounding days. We are starting with a coffee and drop in sessions at The Community room at Tesco Trowbridge but hope to become a voice that will help shape the mental health services in trowbridge and beyond

Here’s a useful list of mental health support services and ways to get help in Wiltshire over the Christmas period (Dec 24 – Jan 1 and beyond). Some local organisations may have limited hours over the holidays, but urgent and 24/7 crisis support is still available — and many national helplines operate every day of the year.

Emergency

Call 999 — if you or someone else is in immediate danger or at risk of harm.

Urgent Mental Health Support

NHS 111 (mental health option) — Call 111 and select option 2 for urgent mental health support and guidance on local services.

Local crisis line (Avon & Wiltshire) — Call 0800 953 1919, available day and night for urgent mental health support across Bath & North East Somerset, Swindon & Wiltshire.

National Helplines (Free, Always Open)

Samaritans — 116 123 (24/7, free call) for emotional support.

Salisbury CAMHS – Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services (for under-18s) — may offer advice/contact pathways over Christmas.

In Trowbridge, mental health support is available through NHS services, local charities, and private counsellors.

Immediate and NHS Support

Emergency Services:
In an immediate, life-threatening emergency, always call 999.
NHS Mental Health Crisis Line: For urgent, but non-emergency support in Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon, and Wiltshire (BSW), call the Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership (AWP) NHS Trust crisis line at 0800 953 1919 (24/7).

NHS 111: You can also get mental health advice by calling 111 and selecting the mental health option to speak to a trained professional.

Wiltshire Talking Therapies (IAPT): This service offers free, confidential one-to-one therapy and online/in-person courses for common mental health problems like anxiety and depression. You can self-refer online or call 01380 731335.

Trowbridge Health Centre: The centre has dedicated Mental Health Practitioners and Social Prescribers who can provide assessments, practical support, and connect you with community resources. Contact their reception team to access these services.

Local Charities and Support Groups

Wiltshire Mind: A local, independent charity offering one-to-one counselling for adults and young people (aged 11-18), as well as support groups for anxiety, depression, and grief. The adult counselling is low-cost (£10 per session, check for waiting lists).

Trowbridge Service Users Group (TSUG): A free peer-support group run by and for people with mental ill health, providing a safe space for social interaction and activities. They offer a Monday Night Social, a Mental Health Wellbeing Drop-in on Tuesdays, and Creative Crafting on Thursdays.

Alabaré Riverside Sanctuary: A confidential drop-in service for anyone aged 16+ experiencing a mental health crisis or struggling with wellbeing. They provide guidance, advice, and coping strategies. Phone support is available Tuesday-Friday evenings, with a drop-in session on Wednesday.

Man Down Wiltshire: This group holds a fortnightly evening meeting in Trowbridge specifically for supporting men with mental health challenges.

Help Counselling Services: A charity offering a low-cost, confidential counselling service to all adults and young persons over 16 in West Wiltshire.

Mental Health Drop in Trowbridge

Trowbridge service Users Group is a service user run and lead project, open to everyone using AWPs mental health services in Trowbridge and surrounding Area. We are starting with a coffee and drop in sessions at The Community room at Tesco Extra Trowbridge .

We have Art therapy every other week, other sessions are social based so it could be coffee and chats, games or other activities.

Trowbridge service Users Group is self referral so just turn up we are open 1 to 5 every Monday.
