Piriformis stretch. Helping a small but hard working muscle. Excessive use of this muscle from activities like running and cycling can lead to irritation. Prolonged sitting and poor posture may also strain it. Since the sciatic nerve runs adjacent to the Piriformis, tightness in this muscle can compress the nerve, potentially resulting in sciatica.
