What is the optimal amount of training?

The equation is - speed of recovery v amount of training.

If your recovery can't keep up with your training, your job or daily activities problems will occur.

What can you do to prevent pain and injury?

*Good quality sleep is always at the top of the tree, muscle gets built when you sleep, not when you exercise.

* Hot cold therapy, decrease inflammation and increase blood supply = Healthier tissue.

*Soft training, ie if you have a bad knee don't keep pounding the knee. Instead strengthen the surrounding muscles such as the glutes, quad, and hamstrings.
Isometric training is great for this, think planks, leg raises, half squat holds.

*Massage, realigns damaged muscle fibres, reduces toxin build up, and re oxygenates tissue.

No...
Well its the rhomboids! as they blend into the serratus anterior. The rhomboids are nicknamed the Christmas Tree muscles because when viewed along with the spine, they create the shape of a Christmas tree!
