🧠 Vascular Dementia

Vascular dementia is caused by reduced blood flow to the brain—often after strokes. Its progression can be sudden or step-like, not always gradual.
Caring for someone with vascular dementia can feel unpredictable due to its sudden changes and mixed symptoms (cognitive + physical). Managing underlying health conditions and creating a structured, supportive environment can slow decline and improve quality of life.

🧠 Mixed Dementia

🧠 Mixed Dementia is when a person has more than one type of dementia at the same time—often Alzheimer’s + vascular dementia. This makes symptoms more complex and unpredictable.

📉 What to expect:
Mixed dementia doesn’t follow a straight path. It may combine gradual decline with sudden changes, leading to increasing memory loss, communication challenges, and eventually full-time care needs.
