We recently conducted a service at the beautiful Penwith Woodland Burial Ground and were truly touched to receive such lovely feedback from the family……

Andrea,

A short note to thank both you, David – and the rest of your team – for such well-organised and beautiful funeral for mum yesterday.

You managed to anticipate all the potential traps laid by the weather, roadworks and Council to ensure the whole arrival, service and burial was flawless – it gave us great confidence at such a difficult time to enable us to play our own parts without falling to pieces.

Becky was brilliant also, thank you the recommendation.

Mum would have been proud.

We spent a peaceful afternoon at Penwith Woodland Burial Ground in Penzance, making preparations for a natural burial taking place next week. 🌿

This tranquil setting, surrounded by nature and birdsong, offers such a gentle and meaningful place to say goodbye.

We’re honoured to support a family here, ensuring every detail is thoughtfully arranged in keeping with their wishes and the simplicity of a woodland farewell daffodils 🌼🌳🌲

This morning, as we made our way to a celebration of life service, a rainbow appeared ahead of the hearse and family car 🌈

In this line of work, you become very aware of the little moments, the quiet ones that seem to arrive exactly when they’re needed.

Today, we were lucky enough to witness one together.

A small moment… but a very meaningful one 🌈

Remembering Clive ‘Cas’ Sandall

Cas was a committed member of the St Agnes RNLI and a respected figure within the community, consistently willing to contribute be it through his lifeboat service, his work on the renowned Giant Bolster, or the friendship he offered to many.

His generosity and spirit touched so many lives.

In a deeply heartfelt gesture, the RNLI reached out to Cas’s friends to offer their flag to accompany him at his celebration of life service.

This act stands as a powerful symbol of the respect, gratitude, and admiration held for his years of service, and a reminder of the countless lives he helped save.

Cas wasn’t just a volunteer he was a neighbour, a friend, and someone whose presence made the community of St Agnes stronger.

To his family, his friends, and the RNLI crew who served beside him, we extend our sincerest condolences.

Cas, thank you for your courage, your commitment, and your kindness…..

📣 Meet the Director — My Journey Here

Hello, for those who don’t know me, I’m Andrea Myhill (née Carlyon), Funeral Director and owner of Carlyon Funeral Directors.

After leaving college, I wasn’t sure where life would take me but I knew I wanted a career centered around helping people.

I contemplated becoming a midwife, a police officer, or a paramedic.

Each one felt meaningful in its own way, because each role requires compassion, courage, and a heart for service.

Life, however, has a way of guiding us toward where we’re meant to be.

My path led me to becoming a funeral director, something I never would have predicted back then, yet now can’t imagine myself doing anything else.

Supporting families through loss, helping them find clarity in overwhelming moments, and honouring the lives of those they love has become my purpose.

It’s work that is tender, emotional, and deeply human and in it, I feel truly content.

Thank you to the families who trust me and the team.

Serving this community is not just my profession, it’s a privilege, and I carry that responsibility with respect and gratitude every day.
