Sorry I've been quite absent from here but lots of changes happening at the moment.

I am currently unavailable for regular work as I am in the process of planning a move to Cornwall in the next few months.

I can still do one-off/last minute babysitting in the South Wales area if needed, so still get in touch for that.

The police are there to help children if they are scared or worried....they shouldn't be something children are scared of.

Play doesn't have to be expensive...clean recyclables can be used to make numerous things or to build with. Old, broken pieces of tech can be used for role play etc old phones, keyboards, old pots n pans/utensils. Even old adult clothes for dress up or cutting up to make dolls clothes.

3rd childminding class tonight. Each class brings me that much closer to getting registered with CSSIW.

My plan is to offer care which is as flexible as possible to meet my clients needs.

Home from an evening of babysitting a lovely 6 year old, though she was asleep for most of the time I was there. 😊

It's such a wonderful feeling to know that some one has entrusted the care of their child(ren) to you even though they may have only just met you. I love what I do. ❤️

So I'm about halfway through my CYPOP 5 course which is the course I'm doing to become a childminder and get registered with CSSIW. I've also started on the Introduction to Childcare which will lead straight on to the Level 2 Childcare course in May. It feels like I'm finally on the right track towards becoming a qualified childcare provider...I just need some clients now 😆.

Seriously though, my plan, when I'm registered as a childminder, is to provide flexible, reliable childcare especially tailored to shift workers to include the following:
*minimal late fees if the shift over runs
*offering to stay with the child at their home then take them to my home when they wake up at a more reasonable hour and the same in the evening so they can go to bed at a reasonable time in their own home
*discounts for NHS students
*small numbers - maybe 3 or 4 children at most even though I'd be registered to care for 10.
*the possibility of overnight care in an emergency (but this depends on my registration and agreement of my OH and any safety improvements we need to make to satisfy CSSIW requirements).
*a range of activities, trips and learning opportunities which are fun and stimulating
