First day of induction on this beautiful day ☀️
Today we focused on communication and just how important it really is. We played a fun (and slightly challenging!) game where one person described a picture in front of them, while their partner had to draw it based only on what they heard, they couldn't see it and no questions allowed!
Safe to say, the results were interesting… but they didn’t do too bad, did they? 😄👏
Communication is important in reablement care because it helps build trust, encourages independence, and ensures care is person-centred. Clear communication allows individuals to understand tasks, regain skills, and feel supported, while also reducing risks and misunderstandings.
We cover communication training to help staff develop skills like active listening, clear instructions, and adapting to different needs (e.g. dementia or hearing loss). This ensures safe, effective care and helps individuals become more independent.
