The Athlone Trust Nurturing Potential Grant is open for applications.

This one-off payment of £500 is available to support adopted children and young people up to the age of 19 with their education and development. The grant can go towards things like tutoring, assessments, learning equipment, or extra-curricular activities that help them grow and thrive.

It’s open to adoptees living in the UK, in families with a household income of up to £70,000 per year. Applications will close on 30th September 2025.

We're offering drivers and passengers with speech, language or communication needs free seatbelt covers to help make things easier after incidents on the road.

The covers contain a card inside which allows the user to add their name, age, address, medical conditions or other information about how they like to be communicated with.

➡️ Anyone who feels they may benefit from one can collect a cover from their nearest Police Enquiry Office (PEO).

Dyspraxia is a disorder that can affect somebody’s movement and coordination. A person with Dyspraxia may move differently to others, but they are not clumsy or strange.

This new study investigated the frequency and nature of mathematical difficulties of school-aged children with Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD). The researchers found that 38% of study participants with DCD presented with poor mathematical capacity in the domains of basic mathematical concepts and problem-solving. This has implications for supporting young people with DCD in learning maths.
