We were delighted to welcome RCHT CEO Steve Williamson and Board Chair, David Allen and especially grateful that Steve took time out during his final week to show the hospital’s appreciation. While we are sorry to see him go, we wish him every success in his new role. We are delighted to have this photo reminder of him with our President Daphne Skinnard, Board Chairman, David Allen, Trustees, Volunteers & Guests.

What a pleasure to see the new Endoscopic System that The Friends of RCH purchased in the ENT Dept. At just under £40,000 this piece of equipment is superior to standard endoscopy and will enable patients to see what the surgeon is seeing. It will also reduce the need for operative theatre time as it will improve diagnostic capabilities in the clinic.

🎄 Elf Report to Santa Claus 🎄
From: Jingleberry Twinkletoes, Senior Kindness Elf
Location: The Friends of Royal Cornwall Hospital
Date: This Very Merry Season
Dear Santa,
Ho ho ho! I’m delighted to report some truly heart-warming activities taking place at The Friends of Royal Cornwall Hospital.
Our wonderful volunteers have been spotted working tirelessly, all with smiles as bright as Christmas lights. They give their time generously, spreading kindness, warmth, and good cheer throughout the hospital. Whether greeting visitors, offering help, or simply sharing a friendly word, these volunteers are most certainly on the Very Nice List.
Special mention must be made of the Friends’ coffee shop, which has become a magical hub of kindness. Hospital staff have been frequently seen stopping by to purchase coffee, sandwiches, and delicious cakes. These simple acts do more than fill tummies—they support the Friends’ work and help create moments of comfort and connection during busy and sometimes challenging days.
Even more cheerfully, many visitors and staff have been making kind donations, knowing that every penny helps support patients, families, and hospital services. These acts of generosity sparkle almost as much as tinsel in the workshop!
In summary, Santa, kindness is overflowing here—served with a cup of coffee, a slice of cake, and a generous helping of goodwill. The volunteers, supporters, and donors at The Friends of Royal Cornwall Hospital truly embody the spirit of Christmas all year round.
I recommend extra gold stars, warm cocoa, and maybe even a few extra presents for this remarkable group.
With festive cheer and jingling bells,
Jingleberry Twinkletoes
Senior Kindness Elf 🎅✨
