Prioritise your connection with yourself and the love you have for yourself, because that will always be more important than the energy you waste worrying about the perceptions of others, which you can't control anyway โœจ

The way people view you.

Sometimes I think about the different characters I play in everybodyโ€™s story.

Iโ€™m a terrible person in some people's narratives and a Godsend in others.

And none of it has anything to do with the person I truly am.

The lens that others view you through is coloured by their upbringing, beliefs, and individual experiences.

Some people see your bright personality as endearing and others see it as annoying.

Some people think youโ€™re weak and emotional and others feel safe to be themselves around you.

Some people think youโ€™re rude and selfish and others respect the way you stand up for yourself.

What you have to understand is that you have no authority over how people view you so never try to control the way others see you because the only thing that truly matters when the dust settles down at the end of the day is what you genuinely see in yourself.

1. As long as it's safe to do so, close your eyes.

2. Take awareness to your breath. Where is your breath in the body?

3. Allow the noise outside of you to fade into the background as you place full awareness to your breath. If a thought arises, come back to your breath with no criticism or judgement.

4. When you are ready, partially open the mouth and allow breath to escape as you exhale.

5. Breathe in through the nose 1, 2, 3, 4 feeling your tummy expand as you breathe.

6. Breathe out through the mouth 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8.

Repeat 5 times inhaling to the count of 4, exhaling to the count of 8.

Growing is a human need. ๐ŸŒฑ

We come into this world wanting to explore the world around us; we are constantly learning, asking questions, trying new things and we are not afraid to assert our wants and needs. ๐Ÿ‘ถ

Suddenly we are just expected to comply with the norm as we follow a set routine. ๐Ÿคฏ

๐Ÿ’œ What about if you stepped out of that routine? ๐Ÿค”

๐Ÿ’œ What would you re-discover about yourself? ๐Ÿ’ญ

๐ŸŒฑ In my journey so far, I've realised that I have spent my life doing what society has taught me. I've never felt truly comfortable with it, always seeking to follow my own path. Each step of the way having to learn more about myself and who I am, so that I can live the life I truly want for myself.

๐ŸŒฑ Growing can seem scary, as we are having to push ourselves out of the safety parameters our mind has created.

๐ŸŒฑ Here's how my breathwork, mindfulness and meditation practices have assisted my growth:

1๏ธโƒฃ I am learning to embrace curiosity: โœจ

Mindfulness and meditation help me to cultivate a mindset of curiosity. Approach the unknown with a sense of wonder and a willingness to learn and explore. Ask questions, explore new ideas, and seek out new experiences. You would have done this as a child, so the concept is not new. It's just something you may not have done while life has kept you busy.

2๏ธโƒฃ I am learning to take awareness to yourself: โœจ

Regular mindful and meditation practices help to develop a greater awareness of thoughts and emotions. Taking awareness helps to understand how you are feeling and what your barriers may be, so that you can heal any outdated thought patterns and push your boundaries further.

3๏ธโƒฃ I am building resilience: โœจ

Breathwork, mindfulness and meditation can enhance resilience by reducing stress and fostering a calm mindset. This will help you navigate any challenges as you work to push the bounds of your comfort zone.

2๏ธโƒฃ Use deep breaths to stay grounded during challenges. Your breath will always bring you back to you, slow down your thoughts and help you overcome overwhelm so you can regain focus.

3๏ธโƒฃ Reflect on your progress, learn, and adjust. Never be afraid to admit when something isn't working. Do what works for you.

JOURNAL ENTRY ๐Ÿ–Š๏ธ๐ŸŒŸโœ๏ธ

"I wonder if being human - our need for safety - leaves us missing out on unexpected opportunities". ๐Ÿค”

As last week's journal entries saw me reflecting on the amazing summer I had, and how much I've struggled to settle into Autumn, I realised one major thing that set the two seasons apart was actually quite simple: surrendering to the flow. โœจ As I very much surrendered in the summer, โ˜€๏ธ I found more unknown opportunities arising, more creativity and SO MUCH more energy. ๐Ÿ’ช

As Autumn appeared, ๐Ÿ‚ I was ready to hit the ground running but as unexpected things have arisen, I've become anxious and overwhelmed. ๐Ÿคฏ Then I realised, when we are trying to control, we are dominated by our mind's need to keep us safe. ๐ŸŒช๏ธ When we surrender to the flow, we are able to tap in our heart and be guided by our intuition, by what's real. ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ’œ

Major things I've learned in the Summer / Autumn transition:

1. Little snippets of consistent action are key.๐Ÿ™Œ

2. Let go of the need to control. Have a strategy, yes, but allow flexibility. ๐Ÿ’ƒ

3. Never give up on you. ๐Ÿค Keep the self care, the you time, the breathing, ๐ŸŒฌ๏ธ whatever it is that helps you be UNCONDITIONALLY YOU going. ๐Ÿƒ That is what will keep you in a space of growth. ๐ŸŒฑ Growth is the magic ingredient to success. ๐ŸŒฑ

๐ŸŒŸ DO YOU EVER LOOK BACK AND TAKE AWARENESS TO HOW FAR YOU HAVE COME? ๐ŸŒŸ

๐Ÿ’œ When I first started teaching , I used to practice teaching sessions over Zoom for family and friends.

๐Ÿ’œ I am a visionary and I know in my heart where I see this journey taking me. I am working hard to break down barriers and self limiting beliefs, so that I can create the life I truly want.

๐Ÿ’œ Sometimes I feel frustrated because I feel like life's responsibilities halt me in my tracks; for example my day job takes a lot of my energy when I would love to be putting that energy on growing my vision faster. Lately I have found myself affected by the change in season, weather, light and those bloody retrogrades, which I feel has slowed me down at times out of pure exhaustion.

๐Ÿ’œ Looking back at this picture, I realise how far I have come. I also realise that in order to get this far, I have had to learn to relinquish control and flow abit more with the tide (a skill I am still trying to master).

๐Ÿ’œ Since this photo, I've been on podcasts, taught at a large festival, taught in the workplace and I've started expanding my knowledge to grow even more. I feel more awareness and more in tune knowing WHO I AM as I continue work towards building the life I want.

As I reflected ๐Ÿ’ญ, I realised how much I have been fighting my exhaustion ๐ŸซฃThe more I try to work my ass off, the more I realise what I actually need is more introspection to enable me to process emotions relating to some of the things that came up for me in the latter part of the summer holiday ๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™€๏ธ

As a modern day human, it can feel hard to take time for you, for calm, introspection and general emotional wellbeing. There is always a to-do list of must dos ๐Ÿ™„

One of the KEY things needed to get me through is good hearty but clean food. ๐Ÿ“ So breakfast this morning has been designed to give me that slow releasing energy needed to support my mind and body: ๐Ÿ’ช

โˆ† Porridge mixed with honey and a squeeze of fresh lemon ๐Ÿ‹

โˆ† Topped with homemade raspberry chia jam, a dollop of Greek yoghurt,ย  a mini ocean of almond butter and a sprinkle of cacao nibs ๐Ÿ˜‹

โˆ† Oh and also 2 mini peanut butter cups ๐Ÿ˜œ (made with clean ingredients, no PHD required to understand the label) ๐Ÿ™

Remember, what your body takes in will be a HUGE contributing factor to your mental and emotional wellbeing, as well as your physical health โค๏ธ Feed your brain as well as your stomach!

But AS THE LOVEFIT FESTIVAL STARTS TODAY, there are so many I am excited for including Sia, Pete Tong, Elton John, Taylor Swift, Sunrise Meditation (Ibiza style).

If you need me, I'll either be teaching X-HAIL, supporting others in our lovely tent in the forest or X-HAILing alongside the crowd ๐Ÿ’–โœจ
