This week sees the return of both our pre and post-natal yoga classes, with Mum’s Yoga on Tuesday mornings at 11:30am taught by Louise McCutcheon and Pregnancy Yoga on Thursday evenings at 6:00pm with Ellie Murray.

Louise and Ellie are both a mum of twins and we are so grateful to have their warmth and support holding safe spaces for our expectant and new mums.

Ellie’s Pregnancy Yoga runs in 5 week blocks or you can drop-in*. After class, everyone enjoys a shared chat over some chai. Ellie often invites guests to join the chat and talk about all things pregnancy and birth, including midwives, hypnobirthing coaches and even re-usable nappy and baby-sling experts!

We have a one week break between blocks where the group often arranges their own social meet ups to further bond those all important connections that expectant mums often need on the post-birth circuit.

If baby arrives before you’ve used up all of your pregnancy credits, we roll them over for you to Louise’s Mum’s Yoga classes, as and when you and baby are ready to return.

Louise’s class is not baby led, but a chance for Mum’s to return to their yoga practice in a safe space with little ones close by. All pre-school ages are welcome to Louise’s class, from non-movers, to energetic toddlers!

And of course, there’s plenty of time in the Lime House reception afterwards for coffee and cake!

Any questions please do give us a shout - pregnancy yoga is suitable from 12 weeks and you are welcome to join Mum’s Yoga at any point after your 6 week check, but this may be a little longer if you are navigating recovery after a c-section delivery.

Whatever stage of your pre or post-natal journey that you find yourself on, we are here to support you, during or outside of your classes, and the studio is always a safe space where we will welcome you and your little ones any time you might need a break.

SATURDAY 16th AUGUST | 10:30am-1:30pm

Many of you know (and love) her teachings and classes here at Lime House Yoga, and now, due to popular demand, Fi is offering her Move Well, Live Well workshop: for pain-free, functional mobility.

Lots of our conversations with Fi in the studio revolve around mobility – her years of experience as a chartered physiotherapist and soft tissue specialist (as well as yoga teacher!) make talking to her about anatomy endlessly fascinating and her insights into her own journey with yoga, fitness, injuries and ailments highlight that maintaining the core physical aim we all have in life – to be pain-free and move with ease – is a constant check-in with our physical, mental and spiritual selves as well as expert advice on how to support that journey as best, healthily and safely as we can, no matter what life throws our way.

Her interactive and informative workshop on 16th August is designed to be a fun and accessible session, suitable for all. It will include mainly practical work of not only yoga* but some Tai Chi and Qi Gong – two other powerful movement techniques that Fi practices, teaches and loves.

Come along and learn how to restore and maintain natural movement patterns that support a pain-free, active lifestyle.

Whether you’re recovering from injury, looking to improve athletic performance, or simply want to move with more ease and confidence, this workshop is designed to help you reconnect with your body’s full potential.

Ahead of our Intro to Mysore workshop this Sat, we thought we would start sharing some lovely insights from some members of our Mysore community. Over the last couple of years, we have had a handful of students who, after attending regular led classes with us, tentatively took the step over into Mysore. It is a massive privilege for all of us who work here, to witness the transformation of these students, where the changes we have seen vary from a build-up in confidence & self-belief, to physical strength & resilience.

One such student, Shiho, who attended led classes very regularly, moved over to Mysore a couple of years ago & very kindly agreed to chat with us about her Mysore story:

Lime House Yoga: Why did you decide to go from mainly led classes to trying self-practice?

Shiho: I wanted to deepen my practice without the pressure of keeping up with the pace of a led class. I also wanted to memorise the sequence so I could feel more confident practising on my own at home.

LHY: How has Mysore changed your practice?

S: Mysore has helped me confront my weaknesses & taught me how to build resilience. By showing up & working on poses that once felt impossible, I have learned that progress takes time but with patience, I can get there. It has helped me rebuild trust in myself.

LHY: Why do you keep coming back to Mysore?

S: Amy & Jock are brilliant at holding a safe, supportive space that allows me to practise in peace. They often suggest little “mini projects” to help build strength which has really helped me tackle some of my nemesis asanas. It gets addictive - that is why I keep coming back for more. I also really love the post-class chats with everyone; the sense of community is just lovely.
