I get this question a lot and I feel it’s time to address it✨

So do I still do massage?
The short answer: Yes — but it’s now part of something bigger.

I’ve spent years working as a sports massage therapist, and manual therapy is still a tool I use daily. The difference now is that as an osteopath I can:

• Understand the why behind recurring pain
• Assess joints, nerves, strength and movement patterns
• Combine hands-on work with the right exercises
• Create long-term solutions instead of short bursts of relief

So if you love the hands-on side of treatment, you can absolutely still have that with me, it’s simply supported by better assessment, clearer reasoning, and a plan that keeps you moving better after the treatment too.

Whether you’re dealing with tight shoulders, a stiff back, headaches, stress, a recent injury, or pain that keeps coming back, you don’t have to just put up with it.

This patient came in with:
• A left hamstring strain after a rugby game
• Right-sided neural irritation

In session, we focused on:
• Gentle glute and lumbar mobility
• Reducing tension around the irritated nerve pathway
• Guiding pain-free movement to calm the nervous system

Even small, targeted work can make a difference
Also, let’s be honest… rugby players can be stiff AF. No surprises there 🤪

Movement starts in the brain 🧠
Been working though the .movers course from and damn it’s great investment. Which I already knew it would be 🙌

It’s an accessible way for people to understand their pain and learn practical drills they can use themselves through visual work, balance, nerve mobility and more. Plus it’s suitable for both patients and practitioners/clinicians

If you want to understand why your body moves and feels the way it does, this is a fantastic place to start 👏

Thoracic mobility ✨
This is an area I work on with so many patients in clinic, whether they come in with lower back pain, shoulder discomfort, neck tension, or even elbow pain.

I find the mid-back plays a huge role in how the rest of the body moves. When it becomes stiff or restricted, other areas start to compensate and that’s often when pain starts showing up.

Here’s a snippet of some techniques I use in clinic to help to allow the spine and ribcage to move more freely and efficiently 🙌

Pain is information.

It doesn’t always make sense but it’s telling you something. Sometimes your shoulder hurts, but the cause is actually from somewhere else and your body has to adapt to get your attention.
Sometimes it’s more of mix of contribution of factors; load, stress, hormones how safe you feel in movement, ect.

Pain isn’t random, it’s a message 🧠 ✨

It’s way more complicated than just ‘do more mobility’—but this is something I get asked a lot!

For beginners, the world of movement can be overwhelming, and bite-sized steps are the best way to start. But if you’ve been training for years, pushing your body to achieve incredible results, yet that lower back pain just won’t go away…

Maybe it’s not just about adding more hip mobility drills.

What are you doing outside of your sport? Are you sitting all day? Moving in the same patterns over and over? Ignoring recovery?

Your body doesn’t just adapt to training—it adapts to everything you do. The key to longevity in sport isn’t just working harder, it’s moving smarter. 👊

📩 Not sure what your body needs? Book in for an assessment, and let’s figure out what’s holding you back!
