'Road up warn' might sound like a reference to the roadworks in Truro at the moment, but it is actually our weekly word puzzle! Can you unscramble the letters in the eye-test chart to make a ten-letter word? If you see it, keep it to yourself so everyone can have a go, and look out for the answer on Saturday.

January is Glaucoma Awareness Month.
Glaucoma can develop quietly, without obvious symptoms at first. We’re sharing a few slides to explain glaucoma clearly, outline possible signs, and show how regular eye examinations help with early detection.

We are open as normal this morning and the road around Truro seem to be clear. There have been reports of trees down around along the A390 so please be careful. New Bridge Street is currently closed to traffic due to Gas works but all businesses are still open.

Just an update to say New Bridge Street is closed to traffic at the moment for the next 5 weeks. We are open as normal and the car park on old bridge street is available as usual. It would be worth allowing a little extra time to get to your appointments as the extra lights are slowing things down a bit.

Wales & West Utilities started a project yesterday (Monday 5 January) to upgrade the gas pipes in the St Austell Street area of Truro.

The project is vital to ensuring that gas continues to flow safely and reliably to homes and businesses across the area, helping to keep people warm for decades to come.

Businesses will continue to be open for customers during this period.

Wales & West Utilities has worked closely with Cornwall Council, and it has been agreed that between 5 January – 9 February, the following closures will be in place:
- New Bridge St, between the junctions of Duke St and St Clement St
- Duke St, between the junctions of Boscawen St and New Bridge St
- St Mary’s St, between the junctions of High Cross and New Bridge St
- Mitchell Hill, between the junctions of St Clement St and James Place

As part of the project, multi-way traffic lights will be on St Clement St, Austell St and Furniss Close.

It is hoped that the works should be completed by 9 February.
Diversion routes will be clearly signposted, and motorists are advised to allow extra time for travel. Times, dates and durations are subject to change.

If you have further queries about the project, you can call Wales and West on 0800 912 2999, message them on X (), or visit their page at Wales & West Utilities.
