When clients come to us with pain or injury, we don’t guess – we test.

Pain is complex, and what you feel isn’t always coming from where the real issue started. That’s why, in our clinical treatments, we assess before we treat.

This assessment includes:
• Range of Motion (ROM) testing
– to see how freely and symmetrically your joints move
• Strength / power testing -
to identify muscles that may not be activating or supporting you properly

These tests help us understand what’s actually contributing to your pain, rather than relying on assumptions or only treating symptoms. From there, treatment can be targeted, appropriate, and effective.

It’s important to note that this is different from our relaxation treatments. Relaxation work plays an important role in reducing stress, calming the nervous system, and easing general tension — all of which can support pain relief and recovery. However, when injury or persistent pain is involved, assessment and testing guide the clinical decision-making.

In short:
• Relaxation helps the body settle
• Testing and questioning helps us understand “why”
• Treatment then becomes purposeful, not generic

Education, assessment, and informed treatment are key parts of how we support long-term outcomes — not just short-term relief.
