🎄 Merry Christmas from all of us at Kernow Health CIC.

Over the festive period access to healthcare services may be different so it’s important to know what options are available and where is best to go if you need NHS advice or urgent medical help.

Your local pharmacy offers a variety of services, expert advice and support for a broad range of minor illnesses. You can also get treatment for seven common conditions without the need for a GP appointment or prescription through the Pharmacy First scheme. Your local pharmacy may operate on reduced or altered hours over Christmas, check opening times here: www.nhs.uk/find-a-pharmacy

Minor Injury Units can help with illnesses or injuries such as sprains, broken bones and burns. You can check where is open and when, plus waiting times here: www.cornwallft.nhs.uk/miu-waiting-times

Further information on where is best if you need help is available on the NHS Cornwall and Isles of Scilly website: https://cios.icb.nhs.uk/help-us/where-is-best/

If you are unsure where to go, use NHS 111 online at 111.nhs.uk or call 111 to get expert advice and be directed to the right healthcare service.

Always call 999 immediately in a life-threatening emergency such as chest pain, major blood loss or loss of consciousness.

About Kernow Health

Kernow Health CIC Limited is social enterprise focused on securing the future of Cornish General Practice. As a Community Interest Company, we will use our resources to improve healthcare in the communities we serve.

Kernow Health is a small, dynamic, GP owned provider organisation that covers Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly (CIoS); all 60 practices in Cornwall are our shareholders. We deliver a range of services from all school based immunisations to 111/OOH integrated urgent care. We work with a range of local partners to improve integrated patient care and are focused on supporting our Practices to address workload, workforce and property issues. We work closely with our LMC through a joint committee.

In addition we run a Vulnerable Practice Scheme, manage the Cornwall Community Education Provider Network (CEPN) and also manage Practice Nurse Development.
