Recently, the Kernow Health School Immunisations Team visited Clyst Vale Community College in Devon and received this feedback for our hard-working nurses:

"Please can I thank the nurses for their wonderful session today. They all worked tirelessly and made all our students feel at ease. We did have a couple of children who were very nervous, but the nurses gave them time and lots of patience, so on the whole we managed to complete the task. We look forward to returning in June for the mop-up session."

Thank you for your kind words, feedback like this means a lot to our team 💙

If you’re unsure whether your child has missed a vaccination, please get in touch. We can check their record and book them into the next school session or a community catch-up clinic if needed.

On holiday and forgotten your medication? 💊 Don’t worry.

If you’ve left your prescription at home while on holiday, your own GP can usually help. Many GP practices can arrange for a prescription to be sent electronically to a pharmacy local to where you’re staying.

This means you can get the medication you need without needing to call NHS 111, register with a new GP, or travel back home.

If you need support, contact your own GP practice as soon as possible and let them know where you are staying in Cornwall.

April is NHS Bowel Cancer Month. A timely reminder of the importance of early detection and screening.

The NHS invites people aged 50 to 74 years for bowel cancer screening every 2 years. If you’re eligible, you’ll receive a simple home test kit through the post.

If your kit arrives, don’t ignore it. It’s quick, easy and discreet to complete at home, and could save your life. The test looks for tiny signs of cancer before symptoms appear.

This video explains what happens after you send your kit back.
