Please read below for a monthly update from the Mayor of Truro, Cllr Chris Wells:
"It has been another busy and rewarding month, with a range of engagements across the city and county. I was pleased to host the 18th Truro Cubs at the Municipal Buildings, joined by Councillor Bert Biscoe, who spoke to them about the history of the individuals featured in the portraits. It was a pleasure to welcome the group and to see their interest in our local heritage.
I also attended the โOur Life Storiesโ exhibition by United Response at Cornwall Museum and Art Gallery. The exhibition shared the stories of more than eighty people with learning disabilities and autism, offering a thoughtful and moving insight into lives and experiences from across the country.
During the month, I was honoured to attend the St John Ambulance Service of Dedication and Awards Ceremony at Truro Cathedral. It was inspiring to recognise the commitment and achievements of volunteers from across Cornwall; in particular, Oscar Hunt of the City of Truro Cadets who was awarded Cornwall St John Cadet of the Year 2026.
I was also pleased to meet fellow mayors at the Saltash Civic Service and at the Falmouth Mayorโs Charity Ball.
I will round off the month by celebrating the 20th anniversary of Tanya's Courage Trust alongside our Town Crier, Lionel, bringing to a close a month that has highlighted the strong sense of community across our county."
